We have so many dogs that could use a little help to not only get them through each day but also help the non-profit keep our doors open. You can either pick one of our PIT PALS or pick a dog from our DOGS FOR ADOPTION. Remember, by doing this, you can come out and visit your sponsored Pit Bull in person and spend the day together. Be that special person in their life and show them that someone cares more about them, than the former owner who dumped them here. Help us, to help them. I did not realize that Zak was an Alabama baby. All the times I look at the babies on this site I learn something new each time I visit and that is often.

I think people dont comment because there are no words to say that can’t be expressed through the human language. Only the language of love can express the words i want to say to comfort this brave dog. I LOVE YOU ZAK!

  3. will on December 10th, 2011 8:04 pm

I think owners like that should not be able to have animals…. but the dog looks sweet

  4. Bubba Koll on December 11th, 2011 3:19 am

Zac is a great lookin Dog did I see he was dog aggressive? I would like to rescue him if he is not as we do have a Laso Apso(female) & a Shi Tzu (male) that we rescued thru Angles for animals in Hollywood he was about to be put down. He has been a great addition to the family. And we dnt think of our dogs as dogs they are our kids.

He is beautiful. I’ve always wanted a 3 legged pit.

  7. Heather Berry on December 12th, 2011 3:46 pm

I absolutely adore Zak. That face just says it all. Obviously his owners were stuck on stupid, but Zak would be the perfect companion to anyone in their right mind. Three legs are way better than four.

  8. Sandie Kollerup on December 13th, 2011 11:26 am

  9. Justin Fitch on December 13th, 2011 10:45 pm

Oh he IS the most beautiful pit bull. If I didn’t already have a pit and a beagle and lived out of state I would start the adoption process right now!

  12. Hannah Westfall AKA Dakari on December 17th, 2011 2:44 pm

Awwwwe….. i feel sooo bad for him! My brother just broke his leg in a bad dirt bike accident so he knows how he feels, except he still has his leg. I really hope he gets a wonderful home! I really love Pit Bulls, but my mother dosn’t like big dogs. So when i move out, I’ll either get a Pit Bull or German Shepard. I’m tired of small dogs, we have a miniature dachshund!

  15. Lorna Aho on December 20th, 2011 8:39 am

He looks marvelous, so worth the time and trouble to save him from the horrid spot he was in… the awful wound and sliding him onto a piece of board, to carry him to the vet school, is an experience I will never forget. He improved so much with decent care, and proper nutrition. He was a joy to Foster here at the farm, so perky and expressive. I always thought he should find a fellow amputee or a veteran to share his life with, because he never gets down about his condition, just powers on and loves every minute of life. Live like a dog, they have the right attitude :-) On behalf of Macon Co Humane Soc, thanks to you for accepting him into your program. Good luck to you all, especially the recovering wounded.

  16. admin on December 20th, 2011 4:04 pm

  17. indira on December 26th, 2011 8:46 am

    are he dog friendly?

  18. Alyse Edmonds on December 29th, 2011 4:55 pm

I love animals, dogs especially. Pitties are AMAZING dogs, loving and loyal. It is the horrible environment and abusive owners that give these beautiful animals a bad rap. I am very pro-punish the deed not the breed. I live in Kentucky with my family, but when I move out and get a place of my own, I want to rescue a pit bull. I believe they are very misunderstood. Breaks my heart to know that there are people out there, who use this breed to do their dirty work. I am glad that Louisville, KY declared that banning pitties is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. I think that what you guys are doing is wonderful. There is a lot of hate in this world, people fear what is different or judge based off of appearance. It is nice to know that there are good people like you out there trying to help. It’s people like you, that give me hope. :) Thank you.

  33. Amber on March 15th, 2012 3:36 pm

That is a beautiful dog and if i didnt already have four dogs and a duck i would live to adopt him. I have a seven week old beagle and she lost the same leg and shes still as happy as ever. she is so sweet i also have a white english hes a hand full and the my baby who is two is a boykin spaniel and Weimaraner mix. i would love to add this beautiful boy to our family.

  34. Lisa on March 21st, 2012 11:14 am

What a survivor this big, beautiful boy is! Thank goodness he found his way to you all. I owned a three legged Boxer (cancer took a frontleg), and the loss of that leg slowed him down for a nanosecond! My beautiful Boxer boy lived another 6 years after his amputation, and he even survived a second round of cancer! Our Vet told us more than once that our boy was the most inspiring dog he had ever met, because he never had a bad day with all he had been through. I currently have another Boxer boy, but if I didn’t I would be pounding at your front door until you let me adopt Zac. Somebody, please go get this dog…you won’t regret it….he is a GEM!

  35. Jess on April 3rd, 2012 2:13 pm

We had the pleasure of meeting Zak at the NOLA grand opening! He is a shining example of just how tough it is to break a pitt bull’s spirit! This little guy never missed a beat, tail wagging the whole time soaking up all the lovin’ he could get! I really don’t think he knows he’s missing a leg! We didn’t even realize it at first, because he gets around so well. Our 6 year old had to point it out to us…lol!

  36. dana hernandez on April 28th, 2012 12:49 am

He is perfect!!!! I love this guy so much!!! I just wanna hug him!!!!!

  37. Tracy on May 17th, 2012 12:30 pm

This is one beautiful animal! If he was not animal aggressive I would definitely want to bring him home. I am a huge pitbull fan. I own 2 and my oldest one got his front leg amputated when he was 4born months old. It was pricey but well worth the money to have my happy puppy!

  38. trevel beckford on July 8th, 2012 11:05 pm

I would have love to adopt one of the dogs to show ppl how to take care of dog but because I live in jamaica it a lil hard for me to adopt one of the dogs.

  39. Tammy Williams on July 10th, 2012 9:05 am

Oh Ebony, I wish I had brought you home when I had the chance. I’m sure you won’t be there long. You’ll be an awesome service dog I’m sure.

What you are doing with these dogs is unbelievable. You are truly a saint. I, as an animal lover, appreciate what you and your family do for these marvelous, so misunderstood animals. There should be more people like you. Wish there was. THANK YOU!

It is soooo horrible to see how bad animals get treated for no reason. I would absolutley love to adopt one but unforunatly i have another dog who’s a beagle/pitbull mix and my parents said no more dogs. I realyl wish there was some way to show people that pitbulls aren’t really as mean and as terrible as everyone says they are…..my dog is the most gentle dog i’ve ever had.I have always loved dogs and I wish there was something more i could dooo:(

  46. Terri Fowler on December 3rd, 2012 1:16 pm

I totally “get” those words describing someone who could treat any animal like that!! I won’t say either, since I’m sure my comment would have to be deleted!! This guy is adorable.
I am out of state and have two dogs but I love reading their stories and looking at their pics. I’ve sponsored Mr. Wilson and hopefully I’ll get that raise and be able to sponsor another one of your pups!

I love Zak! I would love to get more information about him!!!

  49. emmmalee on May 14th, 2013 6:33 pm

I just have to say that i think pits are the best kind of dogs to own. If you raise em right an give them all the love you have to give, they are forever by your side. There to love you, to listen to you, to give you a shoulder, or big head to cry on. To love you always an forever unconditionally. No matter what kind of day you have, you come home to those yellow-green eyes, holdin her pink rope in her mouth, happily growling at you because shes so happy your home, best thing in the world. The better most bestest thing better than that? Thats she love your newborn baby like its her own. Waking up to her sleeping next to the bassinet. Kissing her face ever so gently because she knows how fragile she is. Laying on the floor next to her so no one except mommy or daddy can get near her. Whining when she cries because she hears her when we dont. The love that you can not just feel but physically see between her an your baby, ‘her’ cat, ‘her’ daddy, an her mommy, is better than the best drug. The greatest high anyone could ever feel is the love of a pitbull. Thank you tia, mariah, tonya, an everybody that does what you guys do. You are an inspiration to all pitty enthusiests. You guys are a frickin god send

  50. emmmalee on May 14th, 2013 6:37 pm

Oh an my baby is almost 3 months old an my four legged baby will be 4 july 10th 2013! An her name is kona. Best dog in the world. Wouldnt ever own another breed

  51. Patty Bray on May 16th, 2013 1:32 pm

What you are doing for the dogs and the parolees is so amazing. I watch this show every day in Brenham, Texas. They really messed me up by putting you guys on two hours earlier, how inconsiterate of them to not inform me personally, lol! I am disabled and my life is involved in nothing more than your shows and the news, thank God for you guys. My heart, prayers, and love are with you, your daughters, and twin boys. God bless you all!!!

  52. hannah williams on May 29th, 2013 10:47 pm

  54. Bryant on July 15th, 2013 10:09 pm

If I wasn’t a kid I would adopt him I have convinced my parents to let me adopt a dog but we don’t have the money to get him here because we live in Virginia and to pay for stuff he needs my family has rescued pitbuls one of them was a boxer pit and he was tied to a car trailer by an abandoned house his name is diesel and the other one is a pit he was malnourished and he was kept in the shop of a car dealer ship 24/7 through his puppy life he had fleas and ticks we stole and left a note to the owner saying who we were and he was okay with it by the way his name is Harley he is about a foot tall and I love Him I have had other dogs both German shepherds one died on my birth day the other died 5 days after 2 years later they were brother and sister and twins born one day before my birthday they were 15 years old I miss them please comment if you have had the pain I have had

  55. Kathleen on September 17th, 2013 11:55 pm

OMG I would love to adopt Zak! But I’m still living at home with my parents, and already have a Pitbull/Lab mix who doesn’t get along with other dogs either. But maybe when a graduate from college and move out of my parents house I can adopt Zak, and we can start a new beginning of your lives together!

  56. Erica McAfee on October 4th, 2013 5:08 pm

Is this one is still seeking adoption? I am curious about 3 of the dogs on this site and while I cannot adopt due to pets already in household, I would like to be able to sponsor one of the 3 I am interested in :)

  57. Becca Nowlin on November 3rd, 2013 12:50 am

haha wow. I was watching pitbulls and parolees as i was looking at zaks page. and who should be shown on the show but zak. super cute dog. if i didnt live with my aunt and 2 little pomeranians and in california i would absolutely be coming to visit him to adopt him
