Hi my Name is

Yes this little guy has a very sad face. And he has every right to be.  You see Brownee lost his best friend in the world: his owner, his constant companion Mr.Murray.  We first met them when Mr. Murray, a kind and compassionate elderly man who needed help with his dogs.  He wasn't in the best health so he couldn't do much on his own, so we offered to get his dogs into safe enclosures (and off of their cables they were tied to) and have both dogs, Red and Brownee, taken to the vet for medical check ups.  It turned out that Red had a serious infection in his lungs and before we could do any emergency work, Red passed away at the vet.  Mr. Murray was beyond distraught and it was the though of losing Brownee that kept him strong.  Though Brownee had some minor medical issues, he was going to be okay.  Then a few weeks went by and we got a call that a "red Pit Bull microchipped to us" had ended up at the shelter here in New Orleans. When we went to pick him up, we realized that it was Brownee and we were puzzled because Mr. Murray would never leave Brownee alone.  They were together all the time.  When we called Mr. Murray's house an unfamiliar voice answered and identified himself as a relative.  He informed us that Mr. Murray had passed away a few days prior and that when they went to feed Brownee, he had bolted out the gate and ran away.  He knew that his best friend in the world had left him. He ran like the wind and didn't stop for anyone.  Where he was going, we'll never know.  But what we do know is that he's scared and lonely and misses his Mr. Murray terribly. Brownee is a gentle dog and perfect in the house.   Brownee is also available for adoption but due to his emotional trauma, he has to go to a very patient, quiet and special home and we realize he may be somewhat difficult to adopt out. Thus the reason we have also kept him on the sponsorship page.  He is still grieving but getting better with each day that passes. They say "time heals all". We just hope that someday "that time" will be with you.

Poor Brownee. I can just see the sadness in his eyes. I don’t blame him for missing Mr. Murray. If it wasn’t for Mariah stepping in, he wouldn’t be alive.

When I saw this pup… it broke my heart to tears because he LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE my dear Baby-loo, named Gryphon. I was forced to give him up for a home to live in that’s 2 stories big but still only 2 bedrooms. Before that we were all living together in a trailer that has 2 bedroms, but my Mom told me that I had to let him go for a little better place to live and I didn’t want to, my heart started dying the moment that my Mom had made her choice. I loved him so so so much that I am still majorly depressed and cry about him being gone from each others lives. He was more than just a dog to me, more than just a buddy, he was my heart and soul! My mom and grandmother was telling me that I can get another dog and I told them both that I didn’t want any other dog I want him, I.. want.. him! My mom though would of loved to let Gryphon stay with us, but the kind of landlord we have is one that owns dogs himself but doesn’t like to let others own or keep their dogs in the house. The white spot on Brownee’s nose reminds me of the time that Gryphon was staring out a window and for some reason he had decided that he was going to run and jump through the window and he had broken the window and got his nose on top all cut up in a weird way and I was sssoooo freaking out but he was pretty much calmer than I was and I was trying to help him stop bleeding and stuff until my mom got back home. Mom was kinda flipping out about having a missing window but was really concerned about Gryphon’s nose, I wanted to go but mom said I should stay to keep watch over the house because of the window, but when she returned she told me what the doctors said and how funny it was to see him on the sleep medicine stuff before he had gotten his stiches and after. I really would like to adopt Brownee when you see he his ready for a home and possibly another one of your pups. Gryphon was the very first pitbul that I have ever owned and was the greatest experience I have ever had with owning a dog! He is a Red Nose Pitbull too. I could tell you so many stories and memories that I have of him. I am currently at a Job Corps In Ohio and hope to get out soon and have a nice home that I am looking for while I am in here and I hope that I can get to talk to you sometime about adopting 1or 2 of your pups. I love watching your show and getting to see that somebody is really looking out for the Pitbulls and giving good parolees a second chance that they may have a hard time getting. Peace and much love to all!

I decided to sponsor Brownee. I teared up reading his story. I was just a cat owner for many years but decided with my fiancée this past Dec to get a dog, We had some friends who have several dogs including a beautiful pit Karma who was about to have her first and only set up pups. I loved Karmas protective yet loving nature. I also knew the dad as adoring, playful and sweet. The owners of these dogs were/are big fans of your work. So much so that with every pup sold, they screened the potential buyers, provided microchipping, and print outs from your site on the breed. We as thier friends were no exception. Now we have a beautiful 9 1/2 month old blue pit named Athena. She is every bit my shadow but loves everyone in the family. She is gentle with my fiancée’s smaller children but will play rough with the adults. Its like she knows the differance. I couldnt imagine life without her. She has her traits from both her mother and father. I sponsored Brownee because she lost the people who loved him.

My name is Julie and I live in MI and love to watch the show. I am in awe at the Love and Commitment all of you at Villalobos show each and every animal you rescue. I personally do not own a Pit Bull but love the breed and have friends with them and it’s nice to see how you educate people on the breed. I love the fact that Tia not only helps the animals but how she gives people another chance. Some people get excited to meet movie stars or music stars but Tia is someone I would be honored to meet, hopefully I get that chance someday. Thank You to all of the Villalobos Family for everything you do!! God Bless you.

I would love to adopt Brownee, but I live in Maine. I would be willing to drive to LA to pick him up. The boy deserves a loving home and I would be proud to provide that for him.

  14. Rachel on November 7th, 2013 12:54 pm

I love Villalobos dedication to helping such loving animals! I hope Brownee recovers well from his loses. I adopted my chihuahua after my grandma passed away and she definitely went through a hard time and depression immediately following the loss. I was able to help her recover and begin eating again. Dogs can most definitely feel their loss and they deserve to mourn their loss and recover with a new best friend! Thank you for all you do!!

Just wanted to tell you, again,Tia how much it meant to me when you posted a smiling picture of Brownee on your timeline one day. I sat here and cried like a baby. Good tears. One of the reasons I sponsor this gentle love was so I could see him smile. I think I’ve told you before that I am Empathic so I feel feelings much stronger then most and its not always a gift. I can just see you saying to yourself,Tia,”This Crazy Hippie from Santa Cruz is a NUT!” :)
I hope to be able to send him some gifts next month along with the monthly donation that comes as well. I will buy for animals much quicker then I will my own kids, but they are all grown and have kids of their own, which I never get to see,so your Pups mean a lot to me as well..;)
    Thanks for listening…

    Rokki….That Crazy Hippie…

Got something to say?
