Hi my Name is

JASPER

I've Been Here Since: 2008-11-01
DOB: January 2007
Gender: Male
Size: 40lbs approx

My Behavior:

jaspar1 jaspar2 jaspar3 jaspar4

This fluffy little lion lookalike is an obvious Chow Chow mix.  Jasper is such a loving little guy and is fully of energy.  He lives for walks but also enjoys laying around his kingdom aka your livingroom.   Dumped at a local shelter by his owner, they just couldn't appreciate the history of this breed as it was treated as royalty in the country of China.  Poor Jasper doesn't feel that way now. He needs a real palace of his own and a place where someone recognizes what a special emperor he truly is.

Help Support one of our Dogs

We have so many dogs that could use a little help to not only get them through each day but also help the non-profit keep our doors open. You can either pick one of our PIT PALS or pick a dog from our DOGS FOR ADOPTION. Remember, by doing this, you can come out and visit your sponsored Pit Bull in person and spend the day together. Be that special person in their life and show them that someone cares more about them, than the former owner who dumped them here. Help us, to help them. pitbulls are a misunder stoud breed. It is sad seeing them locked up

Handsome boy! He does look like he could be part Eurasier, but more than likely, considering how rare that breed is in the US, he’s a Chow something mix. Definitely my kind of dog though (except for the not good with cats part). All my dogs are chow mixes, and one is in fact, a Eurasier (CKC registered, bred in Canada).

    Jasper is cute!
He looks EXACTLY like our male, chow mix we adopted in February, (they could be brothers & we’re here in OH).
Our rescued chow learned to tolerate/get along w/cats and play with our other dog, (another chow/retriever mix).
I’m betting Jasper could too w/training. We trained all of our dogs that cats are part of the family. It takes time but they learn.
Good luck finding Jasper a home, he deserves it!

Also, wanted to add that the Chow mixes we had are great w/our kids and their friends.
Hope Jasper gets a home and bravo to Tia and the crew at Villalobos, you guys do great, humane rescue work!

  18. robert lee on February 26th, 2013 2:25 pm

hey love your show ..gonna make a donation next payday..in references to your comment being made about chow being regarded as royalty in china..your facts are wrong in lots of parts of china they eat chow..just thought you should know.

He looks so sweet, I have a chow mix and he does rule our home he and our other dog who is an irish wolfhound mix get a new toy every week, my 4 legged kids listen better than my two legged ones. I wish I could adopt him but I live in an apartment and already have two males, I hope he gets adopted soon so he can rule their home, for everyone who loves dogs you know they are like potato chips you need more than one :)

  20. Amanda on April 25th, 2013 2:07 pm

He is a chow chow mix! It says on petfinder :)

  21. victoria on August 9th, 2013 7:09 pm

he is so cute but how much does he cost?(:

  22. Brianna on August 18th, 2013 4:12 pm

OMG HE’S SO ADORABLE!!! Me and my husband would love to start the adoption process on this cutie but as of current we’re still in an apartment with a no pet policy and we’re going to be moving soon and hopefully that place will allow animals. My husband loves Chows and has had three in the past so the breed isn’t an issue. It’s just we can’t take him yet so hold him for us!!

When you have time I would like to get some more Pictures of Jasper so I might make a screensaver of him for a friend of mine.
    Thank you for your time.

I think Jasper could be a chow chow/ newfoundland mix. He is so adorable. Wish I could adopt him. I have had both of these breeds in the past and they are so sweet and loyal. My son really needs a good therapy dog to help him cope with his emotions. My son tends to get aggressive with dogs and wants to dominate them. We have had 3 dogs with our son and each one we had to find new homes for because he was too rough with them. I hope that one day he will be able to have a dog who can be his best friend because he is an only child. But I just think Jasper is so cute but I am saddened by his sad eyes. I hope he finds a home soon.

Got something to say?
