SHABAZZ

After his owners moved to the East Coast, Shabazz had a tough time adjusting to kennel life here.  For months he was scared of everything and everyone and we weren't sure he was going to make it.  He was so miserable without his owners.  Owner turn ins are heartbreaking for us too because it's so sad to watch these dogs that are used to sleeping in a bed in a nice house and now they're out in the weather elements, wondering where their family went.  Shabazz is finally coming around and realizing that no one is coming back for him and in order to get a new family he must be brave and put on a good impression.  He is now coming out of his shell and is desperate for love and a patient family. But because he can be a little shy, he will need a quiet, adult and structured home.  There has to be someone out there who can offer him this.  Behind this smile is a sad little dog.  Only you can turn his frown upside down.

Kids: probably not real small ones, he can sometimes be a little shy

    Tia,
You and your staff do amazing thins. not just for the dogs, but also for the guys you help. I love your show and have my DVR set so i don’t miss it. I have fallen in love with many of your dogs and have even cryed with you while watching some of your shows. ( esp. this most recent move attemp with people being narrow minded and ruining your drea. but you’re right home is where the dogs are!) I live in Ohio and currently have two cats i will have my dog soon just working on the husband. I am a pitbull lover and sadly the county i live in will kill any pitbull in our shelters. Last summer i fought to adopt a gental fantastic pit that was picked up as a stray. i went through everything! (i have an acre with yard and woods, i installed the stubbern dog undergrond fence for this pup and everything :( but the lady knew the dog wan’t mine so even when i tryed to say he was mine so i could save his life they refused adoption! He looked alot like shabazz! Keep up the good work maybe someday i’ll get to fly out and rescue one of your dogs.Thank you for everything you do!

I have a wire terrier and a cat. Most of all I have a 5 month old American red nose. His name is Loki the God of mischief and boy does he live up to him name! He gets along great with both of my animals and my kids but he is a monster and he needs someone his own size to play with. I’m looking for a pit that gets along with cats dogs and kids… and this one would be an awesome addition to my animal family that are 100% spoiled and loved

    Tia,
Shabazz is soo aborable. I watch your show every Saturday and even when the re run episoded are on I watch those too. :-) We have a white lab named yuki and I don’t know how we would react with another dog. If anything ever happens to him(which I hope nothing does) when I feel like I’m ready I will most deffinetly look into your pit bulls. Thank you for everything you do :)

I have 2 cats and a 2 yr old Pittie that I have had since he was a week old. I am a little confused to why Shabazz cannot be adopted out of state into a home with another dog. I would love the opportunity to have another Pittie. Throughout our family, we have a total of 5 Pitties. This is the most understood breed. If people educated themselves about this breed, they would learn that they DO NOT have “lock jaw”. The key is proper training and socialization. Tia, you are an angel from Heaven. I watch your program all the time and each time I end up crying. I just cannot understand how people can be so ignorant towards this breed. Keep up the good work Tia and Staff. You are all truly Angels!!!

I just love this dog… we have two pits already but i would love to have this one. We have a male that we keep in the house and he is so spoiled lol … he gets along so well with my two kids (9 and 11). His name is boss and our females name is midnight she also get along with kids. They are members of our family. Shabazz would probably fit right in. Keep up the good work Tia, we love your show.

OMG! If I visit I’ll have to meet Shabazz along with several other dogs. Will be more than happy to bring my cats along for a meet and greet if you would allow that. They are leash trained :) Seem like Goofie is intrested is Shabazz too. She just came over and checked him out.

  13. Chelsey on December 16th, 2011 11:05 pm

He is also pretty. I would love to have him. I bet my Harlie would love him so much.

  14. Chelsey on December 16th, 2011 11:07 pm

And I just found out that you do adopt out of state. but not if you have an existing dog. Would you consider it if I brought my dog along? Just curious.

  15. Sean on December 19th, 2011 12:31 am

    Tia,
I love what you do! You are so great giving second chances to anyone or anything :) that comes your way. I watch your show every saturday night. But, I have to watch it alone because my family thinks Pit Bulls are vicious! I plan to adopt a Pit Bull from you as soon as I move out of my parents house! Someday, I even hope to work or volunteer at Villalobos.
Thank you for all that you do. It inspires me to do so much more!

  16. Jessica on December 19th, 2011 10:52 am

    Tia,
You’re show is amazing! Its so great to know there are people like you in this world still putting their heart into something and working so hard to help these animals and people. I saw that you don’t adopt out of state to people who already have pets. My boyfriend is in the army so if we ever end up in your area I would love to adopt one of your dogs!

  17. susanne on December 28th, 2011 11:35 pm

i had a pitbull named jenny that look alot like him. she lived till she was 18. i love pitbulls and i watch your show every saturday. i really want to start a pitbulll rescue. but first i have to get out high school.. i want to rescue all dogs but mainly pitbulls bacause they are the most misunderstud breed of dog. jenny was very sweet dog. i loved her very much. i miss her so much. i hope he fines his forever home soon.

  18. Mary valente on January 4th, 2012 11:45 am

Would give shabazz all the love he has missed out on. Am home all day long and have a huge wooden fence. I have a laid back 7 year old black lab who is used to being with other dogs (raised with my 2 other labs who have since passed away. Also have a 3 year old Maine coon cat who is mostly outside even in cold weather. Sorry because of my other animals adoption of shabazz isnot an option. Hope she finds the home she deserves. I watch your show every Saturday. You truly are an inspiration. God bless you and your family.

  19. sandy romero on January 4th, 2012 11:56 am

  23. Terri on January 26th, 2012 6:35 pm

I discovered your tv show yesterday and I am beyond touched. I know very little about Pitbulls (other than the negative stories you so often hear) it was refreshing and eye opening to see these precious animals in a new light. I hopethat these pups find their furr-ever homes and happiness with loving stable families.

  24. Laura on January 31st, 2012 5:08 pm

    Tia,
I think that the work that you and your team do is wonderful. I love pit bulls so much and sadly, my parents and family don’t like pitties conalstantly saying that they are bred to bite everything in sight.
I am determined to own a pit bull to show them all what sweet, good natured dogs they are but I live in england so it would be a bit difficult to get one here. Eventually I would love to volunteer at you shelter and hopefully adopt one of your dogs.
    Good luck with everything

  25. Katlyn on February 4th, 2012 11:17 pm

He is so cute. I wish I could adopt him, but I live all the way in Ohio and I have two dogs. My mom and boyfriend don’t like Pit Bulls so I know there’s no way I’ll be getting one until September. My boyfriend has a one year old daughter, so I know he wouldn’t let any Pit Bull near her. I love watching your show and just watched your newest episode and I love what and the guys at the center do! Its amazing :) We have an adopted black lab and when we went to go look for a dog, there were 2 Pit Bulls at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, I wanted to get one, but my mom said no =( I know that Pit Bulls aren’t that bad. <3

  26. Cassidy on February 5th, 2012 2:58 pm

This dog would be perfect for my family because we have two cats and a dog but my parents said that one dog is enough but when I can get my own dog I’m going to get a Vialobos pitbull. It is so sad what people do to those poor animals. I want to help out as many animals as I can when I grow up.

  27. alexis on February 13th, 2012 2:48 pm

ahhhhhh!!! Can i just take him now? <3

  28. Amelia on March 11th, 2012 4:29 am

Dear Tia and Staff, I have to say, Pitbulls are really lucky to have you! You treat the dogs like they are in a 5 star resort! I am a HUGE fan of your show and of your program. I hope one day that people will understand pitbulls, because all the rumors that they will turn on you and that once they bite you they wont let go, they are not true! I don’t know why people say bad stuff about pits, if you ever see a mean pit it’s not because they are like that. Its because their owner made them like that. Maybe one day I will make a trip out to Villalobos and adopt one of your pits! I really want one! Thank you for all you do! Keep up the good work! :-)

How old is Shabazz and do you think he would be good with a little Schnauzer/Maltese mix? I am absolutely in love with him. I’m supposed to be moving out of my parent’s and getting my own place in August. If he is still up for adoption and I have the money, I would love to adopt him.
