Hi my Name is

WILLOW (husky)

This blue eyed beauty was found running down one of the most deserted highways in California. Our founder Tia Torres, spotted her as she nearly became road kill from a big semi truck. There were no homes around for miles so the question became who dumped this poor dog in the middle of nowhere with no way to defend herself? Despite how horrible a former owner had treated her, she immediately jumped into the car, tail wagging non-stop and oh those slobbery kisses. She had many to share. Willow is a very outgoing and happy go lucky girl. She will behave around other dogs but she will need to be the only princess in the castle. Her photo doesn't do her justice. When you see those blue eyes against that black velvet coat in person, it just takes your breath away.

Willow update – Willow has been fostered by one of our 'tv producers' while here in New Orleans working on the show and she has proved herself to be the PERFECT dog. She is house trained, crate trained (although she doesn't need it) and an all together wonderful companion. She is affectionate, kind and walks perfectly on the leash. She gets a bit nervous around other dogs, but would be fine in a home with an older dog or a dog that would just coexist with her. She is great with cats and awesome with kids.

Help Support one of our Dogs

We have so many dogs that could use a little help to not only get them through each day but also help the non-profit keep our doors open. You can either pick one of our PIT PALS or pick a dog from our DOGS FOR ADOPTION. Remember, by doing this, you can come out and visit your sponsored Pit Bull in person and spend the day together. Be that special person in their life and show them that someone cares more about them, than the former owner who dumped them here. Help us, to help them. she is beautiful. about how much money do you think it would be to adopt her? I live in new hampshire.

  5. Maria Stephens on November 11th, 2011 12:46 pm

I really want to adopt a dog. the thing is my husband is standing in the way. We have a little boy and one on the way. I love this dog. and really would love to bring her home. I live in KY. It says shes good with other dogs we have a small poodle named lego who really needs a friend. How much do you think it would cost us to adopt her? And do you think she would be a good protector to the kids.

A couple of things…………………”He” is a she. When you read the description about Willow it states that while she gets along with other dogs, she needs to be the “princess of her castle” which I take as being an only dog…………….site does say they adopt out of state but to a household with no other dogs. Additionally- huskies like to run (I’ve owned one before). They are fantastic escape- artists.

I saw her on Pit Bulls and Parolees ! She is sooooo lucky !

  8. Lauren Armstrong on November 18th, 2011 1:47 am

Gosh, I saw the episode where she was rescued and it broke my heart. How could such a beautiful dog be so cruelly abandoned?? I’d give anything to adopt her, she reminds me of my old husky so much. I love all dogs but huskies will always have a special place in my heart. I really hope she finds a loving forever home! But if she’s still unadopted in a few years I’d definitely love to take her home with me.

  9. Sundra on November 28th, 2011 2:04 pm

She is lovely looking dog… She looks like a husky… and she has the bluest i’ve ever seen!

  10. Melinda Shotts on December 10th, 2011 5:13 pm

I also saw the episode where Willow was rescued. I can’t believe that she hasn’t been adopted yet, she’s so beautiful and sweet. I would love to adopt her. Do the same rules of having other pets apply to non-pitbulls? What is it that makes you feel that Willow needs to be an only child? I have two cats and my husband has a Burmese Mountain dog mix (Rowdy). He is quite well trained. (My husband does pretty well training dogs for someone with no formal training himself! lol) We are buying a 5 acre horse property, and I know Rowdy would love to have a friend. Where I am renting now, the landlord has a heeler mix and she and Rowdy have such a good time playing together. I hope someday to be able to adopt a pitbull, but I haven’t gotten my husband totally convinced yet. I volunteer at the Longmont, CO Humane Society. With Denver’s ridiculous pitbull ban, the surrounding shelters are overflowing with pitbulls. Longmont’s Humane Society dog population is always more than half pitbulls. I had never had the opportunity to be around them until I started volunteering, and immediately fell in love with them. Maybe someday……

My dream dog ♥ I have always been in love with the Breed

  12. MARY on January 7th, 2012 5:37 pm

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS DOG! I love black-tri colored dogs especially when its a austrailian shepherd or border collie, and those goregous blue eyes are just captivating and even the brown and amber eyes get to me. My town that I live in is full of pits, the neighbors behind me have an american bulldog and two bull terriers(spuds lookalikes). My dog and bullies run back and forth all day long, at least the fence is in between them. Tia and family and crew keep up the good work and dedication you are doing!

  13. Maluhia on January 11th, 2012 4:23 pm

I can’t believe she hasn’t been adopted yet! Huskies are an amazing breed – extremely smart and excellent escape artists.

  14. Suzy on January 20th, 2012 5:24 pm

I LOVE watching Pit Bulls & Parolees, I have to DVR it because I am so busy going to school, to become a Vet, I too want to open a rescue-pet motel (being a soldier, I really want to gear it to soldiers that have to put their furry babies in pounds or to sleep because they are deploying or moving to another post).
I was FINALLY able to catch up on my recorded shows… WHAT a BEAUTIFUL girl!! I was curious to see if she was still here & she is… I am surprised… I love huskies, I had one as a little girl she moved with us out here to MI from CA when I was little & passed when I was about 9 I LOVED that dog!! I hope she finds a forever home VERY soon..
Thank you for what you do… Places like this & people that do what you do I idolize!!

  15. Melanie on January 21st, 2012 11:00 pm

Wow. She not only looks like my dog, but her story is pretty much exactly like his – dumped on a highway and ran into my car when I stopped for him! She is so lucky to have been found by Tia and I hope she finds a great home!!!

  16. Ashley on January 28th, 2012 10:39 pm

I wish I could adopt her, but I’m living with my soon to be in-laws and they have three cat’s here, one of them being my fiance’s black cat, Salem. I hope I can find a dog as beautiful as her closer to home here in WI that my fiance and I can adopt. Wish you the best, Willow. You deserve it.

  17. Brandy on January 29th, 2012 1:22 am

I am in love with this dog just by seeing the pictures. I wish I had the yard that this dog needs so I could adopt it. I have been looking at the local shelter for a dog, but have yet to see one as beautiful as this. I would not mind having a pit bull, but here in Missouri my homeowners insurance will drop me if I get one.

  18. Raven L. Johnson on February 5th, 2012 12:49 am

I watched the episode when you got her. Thank you for saving her, i look up to you.

  19. Pippit Carlington on February 6th, 2012 3:43 pm

I saw the episode when you found this one. It’s quite possible that she just escaped from somebody’s yard. She actually looked in pretty good shape like somebody had been taking care of her.

If I were to take an educated guess about her lineage, I’d say she is probably a husky/cattle dog mix.

  20. Amanda Newton on February 9th, 2012 5:24 am

I have watched episode and just remembering this one has made the tears start rolling once again omg Tia your my hero and angel among us!

  21. Ed on February 11th, 2012 5:34 pm

Willow is such a beautiful dog. I’ve always wanted a Husky or Shepherd. I wish you adopted out of state to current dog owners. I would take her in a heartbeat. I currently have a Husky/Shepherd mix named Colby Jack. He has one blue and one brown eye. He is a rescue. He was found in a field limping, and upon x-ray found him full of shotgun pellets. The vet picked out all he could, but there are still 50 or so pellets in his hind quarters. He is such a loving animal with a huge heart. I also have a Pit/Shepherd named Marley. My then-fiance agreed to watch him for a friend of hers for the weekend late in 2009 when I was in Iraq. They never came back for him. She only kept him because she knew how much I wanted a dog. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and loves any person or animal he meets. He loves to play!

I love what you guys do, and I wish I could adopt Willow. She would be a member of a loving family and well taken care of here.

  22. Amanda on February 11th, 2012 10:58 pm

She is beautiful, but she is a husky. They are a breed that requires a leader of the pack. I’ve owned huskies for over 10 years now and currently have 4, they are different from other breeds, mine can break out of his kennel in the dog room, open the door and jump clear over a 5 foot fence, lol if we let him. I swear they are one of the best breeds to own if you know how to train them and care for them. I would suggest if your looking to adopt her research the breed, if everything fits you will NEVER find a better dog than a rescue husky…Sorry, I love the show and you guys inspire me to no end but a I am a little bias :-) Thank you so much for all you do for the dogs and the people everyone needs a second chance, man and dog.

  23. Grace on February 12th, 2012 9:31 am

I would love to adopt this dog, but, I have other people in the house who are not ready for a dog, plus we have a Yorkie and two cats, not to mention a chinchilla. I just couldn’t give her the home she seriously deserves.

  24. Amanda on February 13th, 2012 4:06 pm

I love Bitpulls but Huskies are #2 for me :).. we now live in an apartment though. They allow pets but I hate knowing my baby wouln’t have a yard with free run. Maybe if I came across a “lazy” LOL.. we hope to visit in New Orleans now!

  25. Alisa Albrecht on February 17th, 2012 8:40 pm

I wish I could have her, i love husky’s so much. I seen the episode that she was rescued in, I can’t believe that someone would do that to a dog. Where I live people always abandon dogs but no one cares about them. I see the dogs a lot they come to my house, i try to feed them but I cant feed them all and the animal shelter won’t take them all.

  26. Rochelle fishman on February 19th, 2012 11:29 pm

I really don t understand what people are thinking when they dump dogs . If i was in a position i would take her in in heart beat. I already have 2 one being a pitt that was dumped in the street.
Shame people treat dogs like throw aways . Breaks my heart

  27. ember on February 23rd, 2012 4:10 pm

i used to have a husky mix named siben but he got hit by a honda

  28. Brianna on March 22nd, 2012 9:45 pm

I watched the episode when willow was rescued and she is so beautiful. I wish I could adopt her but live in New York with my grandma and mom which both have dogs and I have a cat also so it wouldt work out.

  30. Tyler on February 22nd, 2013 2:19 pm

She is beautiful I would love to go get her,but we already have a pitbull that hates other dogs

  31. Diane on March 1st, 2013 5:20 am

Willow is a very sweet looking girl. I see Husky in her, but she also looks like there’s Border Collie in the mix. Whatever she is, she’s beautiful!

  32. amy on March 3rd, 2013 7:57 pm

    she is cute

  33. Tierney on March 17th, 2013 7:34 pm

I absolutely love this girl! She is exactly what I am looking for in a dog. Unfortunately, it’s about 5 years too soon…I’m still in college and have to finish graduate school as well before I can even think about adopting a dog. It breaks my heart that I can’t adopt her now! I just hope that someone with a big heart and plenty of time for her will adopt her into their home. She deserves someone who will give her all the love and attention she deserves. Best of luck to Willow, as well as the many other fabulous dogs at Villalobos looking for homes!

  34. April on March 26th, 2013 10:24 pm

She is beautiful have two huskies myself i think there right about her needing to be the only princess in the castle ours are not friendly with other dogs and they are high prey drive dogs if you dont have a secure yard you dont need a husky i would also like to Thank Tia and Villalobos for what they do the animals need a voice

  35. caitlin mccowan on April 2nd, 2013 4:37 pm

If only I could have her sadly were taking care of my sisters pit bull marcelene while she is settling into her new home and saving up for the pet fee but when she takes her back as much as I will miss her I hope I can convince my mom (I’m only 16) if we can adopt her

  39. Laura Moore on September 11th, 2013 12:20 pm

I just watched the episode where you found Willow. I was hoping she had already been adopted because she is sooo beautiful!! Your stipulations of her being the only dog in the home and your not adopting out of state if there is already a dog in the home knock me out as a potential owner. Tia, you rock! When you came to Tuscaloosa to help after the April 27th tornado, I was hooked. Being a full blown addict of Pit Bulls & Paroles I miss being able to watch most of the day. Why only one show a day now? Let me know how I can best pray for Villalobos and your family. :) Oh,almost forgot to tell you we have 5 cats and 1 dog, all rescue.

  40. Tina selman on October 29th, 2013 2:12 am

I lost my beloved pit bull Kidd,he was 15 1/2 my heart is broken and will be forever.i can’t get over losing him ! I loved him more than anyone.i appreciate the work you and your family do for these dogs.i used to live in Detroit ,I heard that were hundreds that need help.any chance you could rescue some of them, these dogs were abanded and are desperate.

  41. Destiny Staggs on November 2nd, 2013 9:50 pm

My family and I love Willow. We were looking for Potential animals to adopt. But we live out of State with 2 other dogs so that knocks me out too. I will say I didn’t see this episode but today I turned your show on and I ended up loving it. What you do is very inspirational. I too have a pet that was abandoned on the highway as a puppy. The people that found her immediately called me because they knew I wanted to help the ones that I could. I feel this is why we liked Willow so much because we have a similiar story. We wish Willow the best of luck.

  42. kdk on November 6th, 2013 3:28 am

I have been thinking about adopting a dog, but I’m hesitant because I do have a cat who has been my baby since I adopted he and his brother at 3 weeks old, eleven years ago. I bottle-fed them and raised them. Unfortunately, his brother had to be put to sleep a couple of months ago because he had cancer. I have been thinking about a dog for companionship and also for home protection, even if only to alert me to a person on the property. I love Husky breeds, they are beautiful. Willow is a beautiful lady. :) Too bad I already have a kitty cat, because I think Willow might make a good addition to our family. I hope she finds a home soon. :)

  43. Carole Bourne on November 13th, 2013 1:07 pm

There is NO other dog that we have had that can compare to our Husky/Shepherd mix whom we had 14 yrs until we had to put him to sleep as he had cancer and the treatment the Vet was giving him was not working He was just like a HUMAN ,loving faithful and smart ,too smart sometimes lol
I WISH I could adopt Willow but where we live now there is no secure garden to let a dog out to play and run …..
    I watch the program faithfully
Thank you for what you and your family does Tia

  44. whitney olliff on November 14th, 2013 7:44 pm

I really wish I could adopt this beautiful. Me and her share the same birthday. That is truly amazing Tia, that you do so much for these beautiful creatures. I truly wish there were more people like you and your family (parolees included) in this world.

I love her so much!! I want to bring her home.

  46. Georgeta mihailovici on November 27th, 2013 9:53 am

I am sponsoring Willow till I have the space to adopt her. I have Angel (from you) and Gus now. They are 12 and 14 now and don’t do good with younger dogs. I remember the episode 2 years ago when you caught Willow on a busy street. She looks full grown now. Happy holidays and a big hug for Willow.

  47. Lucille on November 27th, 2013 6:33 pm

Willow is so beautiful. I wish I could save every animal in the world. I have 4 cats from the local shelter and they are as much as I can handle. May Willow find a wonderful home with loving people who treat her like a goddess. Thank you all at Villalobos for your hard work and dedication.
