GERRY
When you go to look at a house for rent, the norm is to check out the bedrooms, see if the carpeting is clean, etc. Well in our case, we had traveled out to a quaint little river town about an hour outside of New Orleans to rent a little place. When we entered, yes indeed the carpets were clean but this house also came with its very own German Shepherd. Apparently the former tenant had been evicted and due to finances and nowhere to go, left his dog behind. So it was like a sign. I mean how many rentals come with their own dog? So Gerry remains with us now and is looking for his "own rental". Here is a video of Gerry in action: http://youtu.be/LIwreZ0QeEc He is VERY well trained and knows most of his basic obedience. He is EXCELLENT in the house and completely house broken and crated trained. But like many Shepherds he does have that "protective" nature at times so any potential adopters need to be aware of this. He does have to be the only animal in the home and because of his "protectiveness" we need him to go an adult home. Don't get me wrong he is very very friendly but…when in his home or car, he is aware of what is going on around him and just wants to keep things in order. He also LOVES LOVES LOVES his toys and to play ball. He also likes to butt into your phone conversations and we swear he understands human talk. Gerry is an absolute goofball and is so entertaining. This is one awesome dog!!!
SVEN
Sven is a labrador/border collie mix we rescued with his brother Garland and sister Leticia this past summer. He's a sweet gentle soul who loves to learn & will make a wonderful companion. Sven is a sweet little guy but he has some confidence issues…he REALLY needs to live with another dog or 2 (male or female) and is afraid of children. He is in our puppy training class and is doing REALLY well. However a country life is more his style than city/suburbia….(bicycles, skateboards etc scare him)
KUPONO
This big ole Pit Bull/American Bulldog is a real character. Upon first meeting he appears to be a very intimidating dude with that "stare" of his. But all he wants is for you to play fetch with him. Pick up a tennis ball and this guy is your friend forever. Kupono also has another great trait and that he is very aware of his surroundings. He is an EXCELLENT watch dog and his bark is big and bold and you can feel it rumble throughout your entire body. Ladies, this dog will make you feel safe and a that there's a new "man of the house". But despite his protective "act" he is still a sweet dog…..oh and handsome too!
NATE
Nate is our gentle giant. He loves visitors to come and take him for hikes and he is a silly boy. Yes he sounds like the perfect dog but sadly his dis-like for children makes him an unadoptable candidate. So he will remain here with us where we can give him a happy life. But of course having you as his sponsor would make it just a little bit better.
BELFAST
Belfast was one of 39 "Pitrinas" that we took. Despite his traumatic ordeal, this little Pit mix is still a bundle of happiness and wants nothing more than to play, play, play. Since his arrival here, he has been nothing short of pure fun!
