BRAUNY BROOKS AND THE DOGS OF GWINNITT COUNTY JAIL
In July of last year we had the great pleasure of visiting the jail in Gwinnitt County, GA to see their incredible dog program. We went with them to pick up an emaciated pit bull called Brauny Brooks. He's been fattened up, trained and is now ready for a new home. Here's a link for more information about him and the other available dogs for adoption in this wonderful program -

Got something to say?

I watch this show EVERY Saturday night and this season was so heart wrenching and glorious at the same time. I am not an emotional person but your show brings me to tears and gives me goosebumps on ALMOST EVERY episode. One of the hardest things for me was seeing beautiful Brooks in all his glory standing and walking on his own. I sobbed!!! NO DOG deserves to be in any such condition. I own a boxer/pit mix and he is the greatest dog Ive ever owned and he and my 16 month old son are best friends, so its unimaginable for me to see some of the horribly neglected dogs youve taken in, but Brooks was the hardest for me!! I just want to know that he is ok and thriving!! I read the statement above but thats not enough!! That poor guy has me worried to death!! Please let me know if there is anything I can do, and if he is still unadopted, I would love to know some information, I have family next door in Alabama and I know my dad would love to have him and take care of him and give him the home he needs, unfortunately I live in Iowa so there isnt much I can do right now other than hope for the best!!!
Just watched the episode and think that this is a GREAT idea! It certainly is a win-win situation for everyone. I think it would be a spectacular program for every institution. Dogs can teach us even more than WE as humans can teach them! Thank you for coming up with such a wonderful program!
The program you are running for the dogs & the inmates is wonderful. I hope many other facilities follow your lead.
I am really happy to see how well Brauny Brooks is doing now. After seeing the first pictures of him, he has stayed in my mind a long time.
If it wasn’t for my grouchy Lhasa Apso, I would love to have Brauny. I hope he goes to a loving family.
Highest regards to his trainer for the excellent training & rehabilitation work.
Best wishes to your entire team of workers & inmates.
How do we try to get this program in place at other Jails and/or Prisons ? I have friends that could so benfit from this program while they are locked up or were in the system…..We need this program in The State of Oklahoma….
This story brought tears to my eyes.. Literally heartbreaking.. You and your family are angels!
Im a pitbull lover/ owner… Ive owned 8 of this wonderful breed over the past 20 years..love the breed andand always try to promote positive pitbull expierence…”Blame the Deed not ths Breed”
I am interested in using dogs (sorry interacting canines ) in the rehabilitation of people within the judicial system. I know that our shelters are over populated and under utilized. Animals of any spicies are the greatest natural medicine for anyone. They are blind to any inperfections we have as long as we have a heart. This idea is in the very infentile stages but I can use all the help and resorses I can find. Please help me in my journey to make our world and my community a more understanding place to live. I look forward to hearing from you. Take Care!! Please Keep You Feet On The Ground But Keep Reaching For The Stars!!!

This little man Brauny is a fighter! It broke my heart seeing his skinny little face and scraggly walk tonight! I immediately had to get on your site to find an update! I couldn’t help but cry when I saw his happy chubbier face! What an amazing boy!! If I could have a dog right now I’d be calling you nonstop to see if you still had him!!! I’m a breast cancer surviver and his will and strength reminded me of that of my own! Reminded me of the push I had for LIFE! He’ll constantly be on my mind after tonight!
You guys are amazing!!! True angels!!! There to give life and hope to those who were told they’d never make it (just like myself)! Thank you! And good luck!!! If things change or when things change and I can have a dog I’ll be calling on you to find my own surviver!
Hi, my name is Joe and I am a happy pitbull owner. I adopted Kai ten years ago after she had been abandoned. My wonderful dog is over twelve years old now, which I attribute to a loving home. I would love to help and give back in any way I could to help these amazing animals. Please contact me. Thanks, Joe.
Tia and Girls now that you moved how are the parolees going to be able to stay with you if some cant leave the state?? I love your show and my hubby and myself will be coming to you with a huge donation of funds for all you do our hearts go out to you, your awesome and touches me everytime I watch…. March will be a great month you will definantly be hearing from us.
All my best with the move we are in the process of moving too so when we are all settled in will call you.
Take care
Sil n Daniel.
Just watched the newest show and was impressed with the program that the sheriff has adopted for the jail. Glad to see that the dogs can be saved and made ready for adoption and the inmates have a program that teaches them that there is something but anger and violence waiting for them when they get out. There are many potential trainers learning a new career and learning to control anger at the same time.
I am super pissed about how you were forced to make the decision to pull up stakes and make the move to La. from Ca. but glad to have you and your family in the south where we love you.
Keep up the great work and God bless!
Tia,
Your first La. rescue is precious and I would love to have him .

Hats off to the master minds behind this program. A sense of purpose for both parties at either end of the leash. Love the passion everyone had for everyone’s success. Thank you for trying something different and for helping the people and puppies with this program. PS – amazing the difference you make in Braundy Brooks… guess you’re right, caring does go a long ways
Just watched this episode. What a wonderful program for the dogs and the inmates. It is great to see Brauny looking so well. All jails in this country needs to step up and adopt a program like this. Not only will it save the dog it will save the human too. Great job
Thanks Tia for featuring the Jail Dogs and sharing BB’s story. Hopefully this will inspire jails everywhere to start a Jail Dogs program.

What a wonderful program! Saw this in Pittbulls and Parolees. I am such a fan of what you are doing!!! Please keep up the good work!!
He looks amazing! I hope he gets a loving family.
I tape your show and watch it regularly, I just watched your latest episode with Gwinnett county jail program. How awesome is that !!! . It completely broke my heart seeing brawny brooks. I just broke down crying. I m so happy to see what a great job the inmate did with him and what a heart they both had , dog & inmate Kudos to them both…. Kudos to your move to the south and your awesome program.. I owned APBT’S for many years and showed UKC & dabbled with AKC… My original girl died at 14 a yr ago, I have 2 little spoiled Chinese crested who lved the life with the big guys to for awhile. But now I am down to just them, I would love to adopt. From you but read you don’t adopt into a multi dog family which I understand. Quick note. It doesn’t have to be a APBT breed… I live in Florida , own a 4 bedroom house with a fenced back yard & no pool. Lol
I think you’re going to find that your move to LA was a blessing in disguise. Now that you’ll be more centrally located I think it will be much easier for people in surrounding states to come to you to make an adoption and find these dogs loving forever homes!
Best of luck to you always.
i just wanted to say wanted to say what an amazing job you guys do i think you are awesome in england pit bulls are band but we have staffordshire bull terriers which have a similar reputation to pits here and are very similar in looks and character to pits .its great that you are showing the true and loving nature of these dogs and giving parolees a chance too who are at the end of the day real people with real feelings too {i love armando ] all the best and keep up the good work your all amazing lots of big love from the uk charlie xx
I watched the season finale and saw the rescued of the young dog brooks by the the program featured here and I was wondering how he and the other dogs in the program are doing. You are all doing a great job. I am a proud sponsor of “outlaw”.
I watch your TV show all the time. I live in Nashville TN as a police officer I see pit fighting rings all the time. I take the time these dogs to recover them and give them homes. I sent you this link because even this little article is taking the time out to take up for our loving dogs. Thank you for all you do Tia and family.

Saw the show last night. Wow! This dog has made a huge improvement. I also saw how animal control behaved. Awful! Did you ever figure out who was pushing them???? Sad, so many dogs get put down, that you wonder if animal control actually even cares. Keep up the great work, Ms. Tia.
I LOVE what you do for the pits and the parolles…. I wish I could take a dog or two but my family has something against pit bulls. I love animals with all my heart. I wanna be a vet when I’m older. I also am a vegitarian. BTW I’m 12, my names Courtney, and I live inConroe,tx. If you ever have a rescue nearby id love if you’d call me and meet my family. My # is 9362030085. Thanks for reading… if you read this…. latez!!!
Hi Tia, Our family had pet pits for many years.Have a couple buried in back yard.Watch your show for a few years now.I know u are busy so try to make it short.I wanted to write u for 2 years now to tell u about the pit problem here in New Orleans but never did.Was so suprised when I seen a couple of shows from here,so u know.Been here for 57 years, pits are fought here & are disposable in general.Mostly because of the black culture of this city. Not trying to put race into this but N.O. has a black majority population & most people of all races down here grew up thinking this is OK & pass is on to next generation. Here is a big stray problem for pits. They are everywhere on the streets.Disposable to say the least.Heard u were here now & blew me away.Like to say welcome & u will get to love N.O.,no place like it in the world.Nicest people u will meet & very warm, generous & welcoming.People come here from around the world & when they leave they are blown away. When they come here to play our Saints even when we lose we welcome them. When our citizens go to a Saints game in other major cities we are treated rudly, that does not happen here.Last month San Fran treated our people rudly for playoffs but nothing new.Dont let the crime thing scare u,there is crime whereever u go.9th ward can be dangerous just by the element there but so can any place in US. U will really love the food here.Just wanted to give u my opinion & thank u for the good work & dedication your family does for the breed & animals in general. Our spca is very overwhelmed & under manned & funded.so your presence is needed & appreciated.Welcome again & hope to meet you some day! God bless you,Steve
I think that the progam you guys are running is great. I wish there were more places like yours around our area. I live in Alaska and have seen many animals get put down because of over crowding. I commend you guys for giving both the inmates and the dogs a second chance. The inmates are gaining friends and trust from the dogs and giving them the attention that is well needed. The dogs in return are giving the inmates hope for change and much more. Keep up the great work. We need more people like you every where.

Brauny Brooks is beautiful!! I saw his story on Animal Planet and really did not think that this dog would survive. It touches my heart that this dog not only survived, but he flourished!!!! BB my heart belongs to you.
Hi, my name is Lexi and have loved pit bulls for a long time. I had one at my fathers house 3 years ago but she passed away. In some ways I do understand how some people are scared of this type of breed. I think they are a wonderful animal in many ways. I would like to work with them like you and your parolies do. Can you tell me where I can go to get my foot in the door to work with the pit bulls. I am 14 yrs old and would love to make a differance. Keep up the great work on finding safe homes for these loving dogs.
I look forward to hearing back. thanks for your time.
LEXI
First off WELCOME to the SOUTH we are so glade to see someone like yall doing a great job we love are dogs so much we have 2 dobbie pincher a german we rescued and a Chawawa
GOD BLISS YOU ALL WE WILL KEEP WATCHING THE SHOW
there is a dog in cincinnati that was recently rescued named Lacey who is five years old. she was very mistreated and under fed, very skinny. half of her face is paralized, she only weighed 27 pounds when she was found. She is now a healthy 43 pounds and has a great personality, please inquire about this sweet dog lacey, she needs a loving home.
me and my husband are very pationate about ferrets and like pit bulls, ferrets are very misunderstood. We feel like we need to educate people more about ths breed to help them out. We love your show and really admire what you do. We would also like to be the voice for a cause in the fight for a misunderstood breed, there are many ferrets that need rescue and love, and we would love to be there advocate. please advise us on our next step to help this breed like you have done with pit bulls. _brandy. e-mail: ferrets4u513@yahoo.com. thankyou love u guys!!!
p.s how do you get over not wanting to keep every dog that you rescue. cause i know it’s easy to fall in love with these needy animals in need. love your show
My husband would love to be on parole just to come and work you, however he isn’t on parole but still has a hard time finding a job, and loves animals. He has such a big heart for misunderstood breeds. He would love to join the fight to rescue this breed so that some day we won’t have to. Thankyou, and big fans of the show.
p.s wer are the ones that wrote 2 u about the pit bull Lacey that was found around incinnati with half paralized face on the news and needs and a home can you please check on her. My family are ferret lovers and dog lovers and I found it funny that this female ferret that we just had to put to sleep was such a pistol. she once locked her teeth onto a pitbulls jaw, she was so brazen and tough. we both really have the two most misunderstood breeds. please contact me if you have any ferrets in the area for rescue or any dogs for that matter, i can’t sleep at night knowing a loving animal is without a home for a false reason. thankyou, long fans of the show. love- Brandy and stephen ferrets4u@yahoo.com number: 513-948-0004

I hope he finds his forever home soon! if i could i’d take him but i have other dogs !
Tia,
My family and I have been watching your show since it first aired. I have been an advocate for pit bulls in Louisville, KY or at least I am trying. When I watched the last episode and saw you was coming to the south to call it home tears filled my eyes. I am enlisting in the Air Force and before I go off I want to meet you and the team if possible. I will volunteer and help out for a day, all I ask is that I get to meet you and shake your hand and Thank you in person. Tia, Thanks again from Louisville, KY for what you do with the pits.
Tia
We just saw this episode and couldn’t believe that someone would treat an animal like that. We just recently found out that my blue pit, Nostradamus, has tumors on his spleen and liver and were told that surgery is not an option. He’s 12 1/2 years old and has been through a lot of crap with me including burying both of my younger brothers and a failed marriage. Worst off we just buried my brother Steve who was killed in a tragic car accident on February 2nd and Noz was a Christmas present 12 years ago from him. Noz is getting weaker and I refuse to let him suffer so I have made the difficult decision to put him to sleep on Wednesday, February 15th and my birthday is February 21st. I’ll be 36.
Everyone that has ever met Noz can not believe how loveable he is. He is a 60 lb. lap dog. He has changed a lot of peoples views about pit bulls. I adopted two little dogs when my girlfriend moved in. It was a package deal. They came with her. Noz would play with them, knock them over and never showed any aggression towards anyone or anything. I am going to miss him something fierce as are Kristin and my son Aden who will be 4 in April.
I would love to adopt this little guy but we live in Syracuse NY. and we wouldn’t pass your home inspection. I trained Noz to stay in the yard with no fence and we have the 2 little dogs and 2 cats.
Just wanted to share my story with you. Keep up the great work that all of you do at Villalobos
Thanks,
Jeff DeWald
I LOVED THIS SEGMENT.
nice dog i wish i could have a pitbull like tht
Hi Tia,
My name is Nancy, I reside in Long Island NY. I am a HUGE fan of your show. I watch your show every Saturday night @ 10pm.
The reason for my email is that I have a cousin who lives in New Jersey and she has a female pit bull. The dog (chyna) is 9 months and she is great w kids. My cousin has 2 boys and chyna fits right in w the boys. My cousin has to move and they will not allow her to bring chyna so she is trying to find her a good home and although I know that there are a lot of people who do take good care of dogs there are still a lot of people who do not take good care of dogs. I fear for chyna.
I am writing to you for some advise and I also want to know how far are you willing to travel to rescue a pit bull. I’d love for chyna to go home w you because I know that she will be well taken care of and she will be going into a great home.
Tia please help me find chyna a great home.
Thank you,
Nancy-

Tia & the Gang,
First of all I would like to say thank you on behalf of all the dogs & people you have saved. There is a special place in heaven for all of you. The job you do can be relentless & thankless. I have always been a big fan of Pitbulls & dobermans. I worked for the SPCA in Florida for years & know how the faith in people can be destroyed. You are doing an amazing job on raising awareness on how this breed is so misunderstood. It broke my heart when you weren’t able to move to the Tagatchapee property, but later seeing the fire gives me hope that God has amazing plans for you all. God bless you. I feel like through watching your struggles & success I have gained an extended family. Thank you do much for all you do. You all are truly amazing and wonderful people.
Amanda
I saw this episode…this little dog made me cry!! I am so glad he has made such a come back and now is a thriving beautiful dog. I so wish all the prisons would adopt this program. No doubt is will help shelter dogs escape being put down and possibly adopted but it seems to help the prisoners too. I admire what you and your family do and just want to say “Thank You”!!!
I think what you guys are doing is great and I applaud you for it. I watch your show all the time. The world needs more people like you and your family and the parolees. Good luck to you and your family and especially the dogs.
great program would love to start one where i live as a new jail is just about open
I watched that episode and I,m sooo glad to see him with some meat on him. He looked so pitiful, I had my doubts he would survive. Good for all involved who brought him back to life! God bless you.
What a transformation! And such a good program for the dogs and the inmates. Loved the episode!
Its so wonderful to see how healthy he looks. I was in tears on sundays episode. He is a beautiful dog:)
OMG Tia….he is beautiful…amazing what a little love, food and kindness will do to a dog…just beautiful…wish he were mine…bless the man who took care of Brauny Brooks and brought him back to the land of the living..bless you all….
He looks so great! That program was perfect for this dog. He needed round the clock, 1 on 1 attention to heal and get healthy, not many other places would have been able to give him that type of 1 on 1 attention. These programs should be everywhere!
Wow! He looks awesome! I’m a huge fan of the show and a fellow bully lover. I think this program is great. The inmates win. The dogs win. It would be great to see this program all over the US. Keep up the great work!
This is the best news ever VRC…I am so happy to see this beautiful boy and how far he has come….
I can’t believe that’s the same dog!!!! God bless you and your staff for doing such a great job!! THERE IS A SPECIAL PLACE IN DOGGIE HEAVEN FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU!!
He looks great. Thank the stars for people like you
Glad to hear my namesake, Brooks, is doing well. Loved the show and hope this will spur other facilities to look into rescue and rehab for both the dogs and inmates.
I watched this just yesterday (DVR). I was in tears when you all went to pick this dog to take him to Gwinnett County Jail. He looks wonderful! What an amazing program they have there. I truly believe dogs work in such wonderful ways. Tia you and your crew are such an inspiration to so many and thank you for that. I only wish I was closer to your facilities so that I would be able to volunteer.
I just want to say this is an amazing worthy program. I wish more people could understand the healing that a dog can bring to ones life. They saved me from an abusive childhood. I have 5 dogs now. All rescue. EVERY jail needs this program & and a lady like Tia. Well not in jail but just more Tia’s. Love the show.
I just wanted to say that you are doing an encredable job! Keep up the good work. Im proud to announce that pit bulls are no longer on the aggressive dog list. I own a beautiful red nose pit named chaos. I call him my gentle giant. He is 8 years old now but was just 6 months old when I rescued him from a fighting ring. He carries those scars today. I can say I have the most layal loving mild mannered dog around. I could not imagine life without him. Please keep pushing forward to save these animals. They are a beautiful breed! Thanks for listening, Misty from Ohio
Amazing I can’t believe that’s the same dog what a great show you have. i watched that episode and that little skinny beautiful dog has growing up to be a beautiful adult dog.they have done a outstanding job.
i love all of you there !you do a great job and everytime you get knocked down you get back up !!!!I was a little upset when you visit the jail and you evaluated chance and thought he should be put down couldnt the jail just have been to much for a nervous dog all the noises and maybe with different place he could of gotten better?
otherwise i wach your show all the time even when t makes me cry !Wish you the best in the new place !Hope also more of these jails will start doing this programs it not only saves the dogs it saves the men!
As an avid lover of pit bulls and second chances, I LOVE THIS PROGRAM !!! It not only benefits the dogs, who get a new chance at a forever home, it teaches patience and discipline to the inmates ! I think every jail should TRY to integrate a program like this….it’s a win/win situation for everyone involved !!!!
WOW! gave me cold chills looking at him now as to where he was last year!!
Kudos to the jail dog program!!!!!! Brauny looks fantastic and so happy! This is a great program I fully support. Congrats Gwinnett Jail for making a difference!
WOW!! What a fantastic job at getting this poor little dog back on his feet. This program needs to be spread to more jails throughout the world. He looks so much better, great job to his trainer!
This program in Georgia is amazing…I wish more people would wake up to the power of animals and the blessings they bring. Brooks is the definition of forgiveness, and I am so happy to see he’s recovering from such horrible neglect. Thanks for keeping us posted!!!
OMG! What a handsome boy! My heart broke seeing him on the season finale. It brings tears to my eyes to see how far he’s come along! Thanks to people like Tia and the guys at Gwinnitt County Jail for bringing this little boy back to life… y’all are amazing and beautiful hearted people!!!
What a awesome job on the handler of braw it’s so cool to she what love can do
That dog looks awesome now!!! I think every jail should have this program, I mean why wouldn’t the jails want to its helping dogs that will more than likely be put to sleep and its helping the inmates have responsibility and love and the passion to want to do good things in life, and it will help the jail itself cause more than none of the inmates are going to want to do good to get in the program and stay in the program, its a all around wonderful thing that we should see more of!!!
What a gorgeous pit. He has come along way. Good job to the inmate who has him. I hope his legs are straight now.
I have a rescue dog that went to “school” in jail. She has been with me for 6 years now and I couldn’t have asked for a better addition to our family. To anyone who is looking for a forever friend, doesn’t want to or can’t deal with a puppy, this is the best thing you can do! I know my little boxer provided focus and love to someone who needed it through the program, and they in turn gave me a well mannered, basic trained lifetime companion!! Thanks VillaLobos for sharing with the public about the prison/jail programs!!
I just saw the finale and about your trip to Ga. I grew up in Gwinnett County and I have actually had to get a particular individual out of that exact institution…lol I just wanted to say how thankful I am that you included that visit in the episode. It was very informative and emotional to watch. It still amazes me at the cruelty we continue to inflict on helpless babies like Brooks. He looks fantastic now almost a year later. I am going to look into trying to help that project as a civilian if possible. I am also going to make another donation to your program. I know your very busy group and I dont’ expect a response but I truely hope that one day I can come visit and help at your new home in New Oleans. Thank you for the great and informative work you do each day with the dogs and the men coming out of the system. Your an unbelieveable family !!!
I think you guys should come out with iPhone cases. I personally know alot of people who would buy them.
Tia, family, and all connected with your show,
Y’all are the greatest. Just one look at this boy then, and now, shows the whole world what a little love and food can do. I nearly cried when I saw this boy on the show. I recently lost my blue boy “Jasper” and I cannot believe the resemblance in this dog. Markings are almost exact and that same “happy to be alive” look on his face. Maybe Brooks inherited Jasper’s spirit. I like to think so anyway.
God bless you all for what you are doing. You have changed so many many lives.
Hi Tia, I heared that you might have to close your gate’s because of Animal Control, have you looked into getting a Rescue Licence ???? I know the Greyhound Rescue has one so maybe you can get one to.
Just a thought.
Good Luck.
Joyce Hendricks
Hey hey hey Tia and the gang I’m Ashley and I live in Florida and I’m only 12 and I watch your show all the time. I’ve been o earth for twelve years and in that short time I have already found my role model, you.you inspire me to achieve my dreams and help the people , that were thought to be criminals and unhelpful or even a waste of space. You and your family and not just you and the girls but everyone on that ranch inspire me to be a help to mother nature humanity animals parolees people land you and mostly to help the pit bulls,,,I never owned a pit bull but I own a American bulldog named max and he is my step to helping…we got him in a rescue his background was he was abandoned in a empty apartment… I think I’m not sure but it was a huge possibility I’m right… I know you ve got a busy scudule and might not be able to read this but I wanted to tell … Thanks for the inspiration
Its a wonderful thing you do Tia, hearing that he did get weight on him and that he is healthy is truly a blessing from god, god bless you, your family, your extended family and all the dogs!!!!
man they did an awesome job with him!! (: I almost cried when i saw how skinny he was
such a beautiful dog <3
Thanks a lot Tia, besides a rescued Greyhound, Golden and a Sheltie; I now share my bed with a eight week old female pit. She plays with kids great, plays with the other puppies just fine, and loves our three rescued cats. She even eats out of the same bowl as our cat Boo-Boo. I love her to death. Your show had a great deal to do with me getting this little baby, and I could never thank you enough. I wish I was closer, I would love to help you and your dogs….Again thanks for showing the truth about Pits and all that you do for them….
Sincerely, Mike Mizak
I watched this episode and my heartstrings are tied to the blue pitbulls. I held my mouth the time you featured Brooks from the shelter to the prison. He’s a lovely dog and I would love to adopt a pit however I have a Shih Tzu not to mention my husband isnisn’t a fan of big dogs indoors
….all my “pitish” love to Brauny Brooks and the other dogs at Gwinnitt County and their handlers!!!
Iam interested in adopting Brauny Brooks please e-mail if he is still available. Thank You Brandi
We just wanted to contact you guys and first say we really think what you do is a wonderful thing. We wanted to see if you could help us fund a way to start our own pitbull rescue where we live in Antigo, Wi due to the fact that around here people are very close minded and ignorant when it comes to the pitbull breed. If an individual owns a pitbull in the city limits and the police find out they come to your house and give you 24 hours to get rid of the dog or they take it to the humane society here in town. It doesn’t matter to them if you have the most well behaved doge in the world and have never had any complaints they still make you get rid of it. Then if you don’t they will c
We just wanted to contact you first to tell you we think what you’re doing for both the dogs and parolees is a wonderful thing. We also wanted to see what you could do to help us try to start our own pitbull rescue where we live in Antigo, Wi. Here in this town they are both close minded and ignorant when it comes to the pitbull breed. It’s a small town and for lack of a better term there’s a lot of rednecks around that won’t waiver from how their opinions about the dogs and there’s never been any thing that’s happened here to make them feel that way. It’s so ridiculous here that you can’t even own a pitbull within the city limits and if they find out someone does the police co.e to your home and give you 24 hours to get rid of the dog or they either make you surrender the dog to the humane society or issue citations to you weekly. They do this even if you’ve never had complaints or even if its the most well behaved dog all it takes is someone to call in and say they think you own a pitbull and they show up at the door.
There is no better dog. My husband doesn’t like bulldogs, chows, dobermans and other breeds. So the two dogs we have now are not pit bulls. However, all my life I have had bull dogs growing up. There is nothing like this breed of dog. They are special in their own way. You gotta luv your pit…
I just want to say to the founder of this ranch Tia… I am not an animal lover to say the least and most of all not a dog lover and frankly Pit Bulls scare the crap out of me due to the way the society views Pit bulls.. Your show is hell bent on making them look like dogs… just dogs, fun loving family oriented lovable dogs and for that I say BRAVO. My view on them has change for the better(still scared) but not for the same reasons as b4. Anyways I want to say Thank You for changing my view on these animals I probably never would have if not for our amazing T.V show. Thanks to you and your family and your fantastic staff for All you do. Oh and by the way I am from Montreal Canada so you teach past the U.S. Take care
Debbie
Hi Tia, I just talked with a friend of mine Alex Paen and he suggested I contact you in regards to a situation I am trying to take care of. Please call me at 818-652-5770. Take care….
He looks wonderful! I’m so glad he recovered from his neglect to become such a beautiful boy!!!
I am so glad to see that brawny is doing so well. I just finishes watching the season finale and was so upset when I seen her at the shelter. And I came right on ur site to see if there were any updates pics of her. I love your show and although my husband is one of those people who thinks all pitt bulls are bad because they can go snap and really hurt someone, making him watch this show is really starting to change his mind. I have a English bulldog beagle mix and want to get a pitt bull when we buy a house, hopefully this summer. I also have to comment on the jail program. I think its awesome! It not only gives the dogs another chance but the inmates too. Dogs help rehabilitate people all the time and I think every jail should do this! Thank you for all u do. From one dog lover to another.
hey guys,

I believe I saw this dog on the show about your Georgia trip. If this is the dog that looked deformed because of starvation…wow. It broke my heart. Looking good now…thank Goodness you guys showed up when you did. I volunteer for our local rescue group and I just can’t believe the things people do. If I was driving down the road going to heaven and there was a human and a dog in the road and I had to pick one of them to take with me to get through the door….man’s best friend and myself would be headin’ to those pearly gates.
Wow , It’s amazing how much he’s grown. We ( My sister in law and I ) Just watched the episode. Such a beautiful animal. Any one whos lucky enough to adopt him should feel very thankful
Hope he has a happy life.
I have a question maybe you could help me with. I have a pit terrior. Female approx 6 years old. This is a great dog. Loyal and loving. She has had the run of the house for years. She is ok with dogs we have introduced her to but never long term. Recently we rescued a 7 month old pit puppy. Very spunky. Not abused but subjected to cigarets and mal nourished. She also had worms which we have meds for and got all her shots. Not neutered. With these age differences and temperments do you feel there is an option to keep this new puppy? We have introduced them and they growled a bit but seem to ignore each other but have not put them together without supervision. What is your experience and suggestion to get them together. I know you are busy. Love the show.
Thanks
Don
Sheriff Butch Conway is the best, I met him in 2005 when I brought him supplies for his 2nd trip to New Orleans to help the people and animals devasted by Hurricane Katrina. I am going to visit the Jail dog program with my family in April. He has kindly said we can come visit!! Georgia is so lucky to have him, he makes a difference for the people and the animals. So glad you had him on the show and his amazing program was showed to the world. I sure hope this can be used as a model for more counties in Georgia. Thanks for doing what you do, we have always had rescue pups.

Do you HAVE to be a parolee to work at Villalobos?
All of these dogs are beautiful! This site is very organized and informative. Finding information is so easy and it looks great. I love the Operation Second Chance program and the link. Best of luck finding new homes for all of your babies!!
hi tia my name is savannah im twelve years old and i think what you and your family does is like great.Ive asked for a pitbull but my mom and dad say pitbulls are dangouras but i think there one of the best dogs ever my two sisters have a pitbull they are just like big babys!one of my sisters have a one year old baby and hese never been harmed by the pitbull there are all these storiese about pit bulls killing people but its beacuse of what people have trained pitbulls to do like fight they werent born to do that anyway i think that what you do is incredible and i promice when i get older im gunna adopt a dog from your facilitie.
Tia, I think you and your family are such incredible people. I tried calling but couldnt get a number to call to actually talk to you or your family. I have some questions for you about my rednose pitbull Taio.
If one of you could call not only would that make my day but my year to talk to someone who has such a huge heart for the breed we love so much. My number is 941 275 7605
You guys are so freaking awesome!!! If I had a job I would donate what I could every month!! Thank you so much for everything you do! My boyfriend and I love you guys! I was also wondering if any of you happen to know anyone who can take two male pitbulls in southern california? Near palm springs? One is a year and a half and the other is two years. My boyfriend’s brother brought them home one day and said he was going to take care of them but he never did so my boyfriend took care of them. He just bought the food and that was it. Now my boyfriend’s dad wants to get rid of them and take them to an animal shelter but we are afraid they will put them down. Is there any way you could help us find them a good loving home? My boyfriend is so depressed and worried that if we don’t find a good home soon enough they will be gone one day when we get home. If you can help we thank you SOOOO very much! If not, thank you so much for your time and everything that you guys do!

HAVE YOU RELOCATED, IF SO WHERE AND STATUS
OF CALIF. PAROLEES??
I loooooooove your show!!! I posted on your FB wall information about an 11 month old pittie that was surrendered by his family in Brooklyn because they could no longer keep him. Max has always been kept indoors because he was not allowed to live in that building, so that alone is pretty sad. The shelter staff says all he does is cry in his cage, and cant even walk like a puppy his age should. I am begging you to please, if you can, or have anyone in Brooklyn or the close are who can pull him and give him the home he deserves. His ID# A0924365. If you read the post on FB, you will cry…I have and still am! Everyone on my page who has read it, has cried and shared in hope he can be adopted or rescued instead of killed needlessly. This Brooklyn Center shelter is a high kill facility and Max is only a puppy….please help!!!
can you please help me, I have a family that has registered Pitbull’s with their papers that are displaced very well behavied dogs, and they need a home if not they will be put the sleep very friendly and wormed up to date on all shots for puppies this family is haveing some problems that in their life right now can’t keep these dogs please please help us so we can save the breed of the good dogs and I do not want to ask any one in detroit cause all’s they do is fight them that is so very sad can you please help me
my name is Sonya and I am asking for my daughters father and his other babies mother yeah i know crazy but we all get along please place these good dogs it is so sad they have to go through this thank you my nummber is 734 205 7701 the family has to get rid of the dog’s cause social service won’t allow them to keep their niece that was sexally molested by her mothers boy friend all the dog’s are in the home
so sad for all involved
I love your show. I love your mission. And ofcourse I love pitbulls! Me and my rednose pit Scarlet watch every episode. She has been the best dog an owner could ask for. She has changed the preception of what so many people think of pits I like to think Im doing a small part to help since she came home with me from the aspca. In july when you visited Gwinnett County Georgia, you were literally 5 minutes from my home. I thinks its awesome what the jail program does and the Sheriff is a lover of pits and has my vote! I wish there would have been a way to meet all of you on your visit, espically Tania (call me
! Best of luck in Louisiana! May god be with you on your new journey! If you ever decide to come to Georgia you could always get alot of land and use chicken coup houses and turn them into shelters, then I could come help volunteer haha!
What a beautiful boy! Great to see him make a full recovery. What a wonderful program.
i live in gwinnett county ga and i was very pleased to know that that we have this locally. thank you for all of your help and i hope he finds a wonderful home!
They are a GIFT to the inmates who deserve a CHANCE and the dogs they train and give up to adoption! Great program- Reinforces my believe in mankind-
Tia,
i love what you do with the dogs. i watch your show every chance i get and just wanted to tell you that. i hope you are having a wonderful week.
Dee Louviere

i would love to take one of these pit bulls! but my parents probably wouldn’t let me because we have a Bichon …. I love dogs and would love to help!
Hi Tia,
I watch your show every week from my home in San DIego. I think you are an amazing person. You are strong, caring and very intelligent. I enjoy seeing you interact with the parolees, your family and of course the dogs. May God bless you.
Love,
Julie A
love the look of Brauny Brooks he is absolutly gorgeous not abeel to ad dopt at this point I have 3 jack russels amd they are very territoriall they would be the ones to start a fight and well we know they would not the one that make it. but a soon as IM abell I forsure will be adopting from u all.
Great looking dog..i love ur show cant wait for season 4!!!
Tia,
I contacted you last week and I completely understand how many pitbulls need your help. If you could please give us another look Lucky would greatly appreciate it. As of now we cannot find anyone who is willing to take our loveable family member for a month. No one can even point us in the right direction. As of Monday february our only option is gonna be to take her to the Halifax Humane Society. They say they don’t regularly euthanize pits however what they do is find a reason that they are not adoptable no matter how ridiculous the reason. An old friend of ours took her pit there and they said they do not euthanize unless necessary. She called two days later and they had put her pit to sleep because she had fleas. Please don’t let this be luckys fate. She is too lovable. All I need is someone to take her for a month. I don’t want to lose her and neither do our kids.
Thank you,
Shirley, Allen, Steven & Brittany Kimbell
i just wanna say that i watch ur program all the time and i must say u r the best i ever seen wit pits and u r also a no nonsence person (TIA) and if i had the land like u do i would do the same thing that u r doing so many ppl think oh yea i have a pit but dont really know sh*t about the breed and the demands it sometimes brings i have 2 pits( Ka’Tara and Lexii) and i love them to death both were rescue dogs off the street and u know what they have been nothing but loving and rewarding for myself and children in which i have a 2 year old who lays down with my one dog every night and falls to sleep with her and she acts like my baby is hers so i just wanna say after all this is that i wish u well and fortune in ur life wit ur dogs….catherine pennsylvania
I both loved the season finale and hated it because im so sad the season has ended. But what goes on in tht jail is amazeing. It saves so many lives both humaan and animal . And I wish more programs like this would be started everywhere there is a jail. Therrs too many animals euthanized every day for no reason at all. How can anyone not see the positive effect of tias show and the prison program. Its amazeing in my eyes and I onli hope I can make tht kind of difference some day
I just wanted to say that i think your program is amazing. I believe in second chances for man and man’s best friend. Growing up was hard where i came from. My step brother and step sister are both in prison. My brother got out and was doing good. He got a job and was then let go due to his charges. He then ended up going back to prison for another year because he couldnt find anyone to hire him and resinded to his former ways. If someone would have given him a second chance, he would be home with us right now. I watch your program religiously, i never miss a show. My appreciation goes out to you and your family for all the love and hard work you put into this program. I have loved pit bulls forever but was always afraid to own one due to their reputations. I have a 7yrs old son and a baby on the way. I would love to adopt a pit bull from your rescue but due to our homeowners insurance, i dont thinks they would allow me to have one. Either way, i still appreciate everything you do. Please keep up the good work, it makes a difference. In the lives of the parolee’s and the dogs. Much luck to you and your team.
Sincerely,
Nikki Taylor- West Virginia
I have been fostering for a local rescue that predominantly rescues pits since adopting my pit and falling in love with the breed. My new foster has recently displayed some troubling behaviors and I wanted some advice.
We pulled her from a local shelter as a stray so we know very little about her past, and guess she is about 6-8 months old. She has some potty issues that suggest she was never really paid much attention to and her initial lack of response to praise and affection (that is now growing by the day!) show she was never really given much care and socialized little.
This morning her leash slipped from my hand and she ran after someone in the street she saw. Had it not been raining and had he not had his umbrella, I’m pretty sure she would have bitten him. She is fine when I have visitors that enter my apartment, but when she sees someone outside I think she is fearful and defensively aggressive.
She’s young and I think with help she could be socialized and get over her fear. I’m a vet student and my schedule is very busy. If I had time I would commit to working with her without hesitation, but with school I do not have the time to devote to her to get her through this. The rescue is now suggesting that they cannot/ do not think they have anyone that can deal with her issues and are hinting at euthanasia.
I know you have SO much experience and wondered if you could offer any advice and/ or help.
Audra Hanthorn
He looks alot better than the day u aired him on the show. High 5 to the in mate that took that great of care for him. Very good job!!! I am glad to see he looks that great now.

Hello my name is Jackie I am a student at Salem Lutheran school and I am doing a project on animal homelessness. Do you mind answering a few questions for me?
Thank you,
Please contact me as soon as possible
Jackie
I just love your shpw havent missed a episode and I cried my eyes out when I watched this one He looks great good Job
You all are great people for the amazing jobs your doing. I wish people were more like the dogs u help. You have restored back some of my faith in humanity. I wish I could work at a place like yours with people like u. Then maybe I could be doing something good for animals and with give my life some meaning in turn. I know I’d never get to work full time at villalobos ranch, but just the though give me what I don’t so often have, a smile. Love your show all of u are brilliantly amazing people. Keep on keeping on.
I have been watching the show from the start and I hope that this is not the end of it. Although it has taken me a long time to overcome my upset with pitbulls as a whole because of an event in my life that took a loved one from me I know that not all pitbulls are like this in fact one of my favorite dogs was a pit and he was the biggest gentlest soul I knew.
You are all great keep doing what you all do best Love from Vermont
We recently had young, sweet looking pit orderd out (put down)
By our local gudge 4 well being a dog, .Killed a tacbell dog,and there was other issues in the case that deamed her outcome, the first 4 this gudge in my home town of Denison, Tx. Heard about it? We have many pits in the area, I did have one of my own a pup named Diesel.
Unfortunely I had him p d after my older lab/pit mix hurt him badly with a snip “leave me alone” 2 an eye. He was aslo deaf. All white.;(
I feel the owner of the case was treated unfarely and many people here are still on his side. Happy 2 the 4s
Brauny looks amazing. It’s amazing how resilient this breed is. I can’t believe what LA/AC did to you guys. But N.O. can use your help and you will definately be appreciated in the south! Our 10mo APBT Grunt was adopted from a local rescue. We got him after losing our 7 yo pit to cancer. I cannot imagine life without my pits. We support you, your crew and everything you do…
I am absolutely in love with Brauny! So happy to know he has gotten almost back to normal since his rescue!
Wish I lived closer
I so badly wanted to inquire about adopting him, but unfortunately because of his needs, he can only be adopted to those in the Atlanta area.
At six last night my eight month old female blue nose pit got hit by.a car going at least 35 mph her lung clapsed three times and they tapped her and she is possibly okay theyre jus worried about the air around her lungs she is my best friend and all I had when I was on house arrest and if its okay I would love to come meet you guys when I get off probation because Im thinking about getting her a playmate .
Sincerely:
Paige

Awaiting the new season! Love your show and the work and dedication you give to this wonderful breed.
Seeing this picture of him just brightened my day!!! I am so glad that you guys were able to come to my home town to see what we are doing in our community to help the inmates as well as the dogs! Such an awesome blessing!!
I am a pit-bull lover as well as an owner of 2! You guys are awesome with what you are trying to do for our beloved kids (dogs)!!
Tia, you and your staff are truly an amazing group of people (Angels in disguise). I look up to each and every one of you. I myself own three dogs (all rescues), 1 yellow lab, and 2 pitt bulls, and they are the loves of my life! I would do ANYTHING for them, they’re my children. I wish I lived closer to where you are, because I would LOVE to volunteer to help you out with all the dogs. Also, I would be so honored to meet you, your daughters, your crew and of course the dogs. If there is any other way I can help out, other than donating money, please let me know, and I will do whatever it takes, and I truly mean that with all of my heart! Thank you to you and all of your crew for all of the wonderful ways you help these dogs and change their lives for the better, and for giving them a place to feel and be loved and experience the happy life that they’re meant to live! Again, THANK YOU!

Brauny Brooks looks awesome, his rescue was so disheartening that a someone could treat an animal with such disdain like a piece a garbage. He is beautiful and the wonderful Inmate who showed him so much love and care is an angel and a hero in my book. You all do great, amazing things to take care of a misunderstood and often mistreated breed which are beautiful and I wish I could have a whole town of them. Maybe some day, until then I guess I will have to plan a trip to see you all.
i did not reconise the dog at first it is compleetley different i looked at the pic twice but the dog looks amazing.
Is the dig good with Kids Cats and Dogs?
Hello i need your help. My name is Kelly Amaro and i live in Chicago and a friend of my sisters called her to tell her about an amazing 5yr old male pit that is in a shelter she volunteers at. He is blond bridle and is absolutely beautiful but unfortunately he is out of time. I have friends and family calling all over to hopefully find his forever home or some way to buy him more time. If you can help PLEASE email me at mskdooley@Live.com. Thank you soooo much for your time.
i love your show and i cant wait for season 4 to come=]
hi i love dagds
Awesome dog! Noticed a typo though it’s spelled Gwinnett County.
Keep up the good work!!
I’ve watched your show! And I think what you are doing for the men! Helping them to learn how to care for something that is helpless and has no control of the life it has been forced into! As probably alot of these young men have been mistreated in their younger lives! Thank for rescuing these poor animals and giving them some sort of life and peace! God Bless
I want him he looks good ..
