Mando, Would you be will to save another one? I help the animal control down here at Ft Bliss and there is a no Pitbull rule bc of there breed. All Pits will be put to sleep if caught. Well I have one that I have been trying to find a home for but no one around here can take him bc of his breed. He is a beautiful dog. He is up to date on all of his shots. Can you please help.

We are a rescue in Clovis NM called 2 Can Rescue Inc. A 501c3 and we have way to many pit bulls here in our town who end up crowding our high kill pound. We would love to connect to help these poor helpless dogs.

Also what town are you located in in NM.?

    Welcome to New Mexico.!

I am an Albuquerque resident, with a pitbull companion, Budreaux, and would like to among the first to officially welcome you (and to beg for an invitation to come out an meet/see you)…
Btw: you might not know that one of the GOPhux State Senators in Albuquerque, a reeking, suppurating slag named Sue Befford Wilson, is trying to get BSL into NM law…And she’s in a “safe” seat in the GOPhux (W)Heights.”

I am so glad that there are people out there like you who one help these dogs and better yet these men. You are a strong woman and a great advocate for Pit bulls. We had two in the past and by watching your show I get to see more of them. Our first pit. peanut was a beautiful girl. We had to have her put down at 13. She just had to many medical problems and wasn’t happy to wake up anymore. You could see it in her face. I miss her very much. Best dog in the world. Then we took in another girl. Tara, we only had her a short time about 11 months. We were unable to keep her contained in our large yard. She would jump over an 8 foot high fence with ease. She actually broke out of a kennel when we had her boarded once. We found her a great home with a loving family. Now we have a bloodhound and man I wish he was a pit. lol working on getting hubby to let me have another one. Love your show. Keep up the great work you do and so sorry about your husband.

  14. heather on January 9th, 2012 10:18 am

I am glad to hear that things have been going well with the big move and everyone is starting to settle in. I am still very sad to hear that you guys were forced to leave California. The work that Tia and her team have been doing for 18 years has been appreciated by so many people and unfortunately, still unrealized by many others. I am glad to know that the work will not stop but simply happen out of two new slices of heaven.
I cannot wait to see some more new episodes and be able to see the new locations up close!
God Bless you Tia and Villalobos!

  26. Christina O'Brien on January 9th, 2012 12:11 pm

What a wonderful thing you are doing for these dogs. peace and comfort for the rest of their lives and I think Mondo is the perfect person to be running..He seems to be such a caring Man especially when it comes to the dogs. I have twins who are 1yr old and my Pit who is almost 12 loves these babies so much she lets them crawl on her and she snuggles with them and is usually in whatever room they are in..She is also a big baby and loves to have her own covers…

Welcome, welcome, welcome! Are you able to tell us yet where you’re located? I (along with lots of other pb lovers) am so happy you’re here and would love an opportunity to volunteer. Will the sponsorship program be available in NM? I love that program – the seniors and the lifers need some lovin’!!!!! Thank you, Tia, for being aware and on top of the BSL crapola started by Sen. Wilson Beffort – I’m standing here with letters to the Governor as we speak ;). Many of us have been collecting them since the legislative session starts next week. Wooo-hoooo Villalobos has arrived!

  36. Nan Whitsel on January 9th, 2012 6:50 pm

  38. tina mooney on January 9th, 2012 8:16 pm

God bless you all for what you are doing for all of the is just a shame that there has to be places like you have for animals that get mistreated by humans.hopefully one day there will be no need for a sanctuary.maybe one day………….the day humans stop living is probably when it will happen.take care.

Thank you for all you do for the dogs!!! I pray for all of you and hope people will someday treasure their dogs because they deserve it. My dog saved my life from a diamond back rattler in my backyard. I did not see it and it could have bit me but my dog grabbed it and bit it in half!!!!!!!

  55. Chance Dian on January 12th, 2012 8:15 pm

    Dear Tia and family,
I have watched all your episodes. I am 8 years old and love what you do. I am sorry you lost your enchancted forrest. I want to be on your show one day. I have a pit/lab mix named Titus and would die if anyone ever hurt him. Santa gave him to me when he was only 5 weeks old. He is my best friend but sometimes he also annoys me. he always wants to play fetch . I want to cry when I see all those poor pit bulls that people abuse. This year I want to help raise money for vialobos I will have a lemonaid stand when the weather is better. I hate dog fighting and want it to stop!!!!! I also think it is wonderful that you hire perolees at the center because their families need it. I hope to meet you and your family one day.

    Love, Chance

  56. Connie Nelson on January 12th, 2012 8:57 pm

  59. Linda Brooks on January 13th, 2012 4:40 am

Dear Tia and Gang, Just read that your are moving out of CA to NM. So, you do know that Pit Bull lovers and Voters Animal Right groups are fight a bill that will be voted on this month that will make a pit bull classified as vicious unless they are registered by the AKC. We are parying that it does not pass, God forbid if it does pass, your dogs will be then in harms way. Just a heads up.

You have your work cut out for you. I pray all goes great and you are received with open arms and the BSL bill does not pass. Love what you do for the breed. I live in a Motel Apt in WA state because no rentals are available that will allow a Pit. They walk me all the time. The hate and stereotyping is all media driven. The best breed in the world and I have two shelter rescue pits and they are the perfect ambassadors for sweetness of their breed. I have worked with dogs for over 45 yrs and worked with every type A personality breed and I will have nothing now but a pit. I train and do behavior modifications for Canine PTSD. I enjoy watching your show.
Thank you for all your hard work. Linda 253-929-4786

  60. Heather on January 13th, 2012 9:30 am

God Bless each and everyone of you for all you are doing for these amazing dogs!!! I have 3 pits and they are more than pets to us…they are our family!!!! I look at the things these dogs have been through and all I can think about is my dogs. I just can’t understand how people can do such horrific things to these loving, loyal animals:-) May God bless your family, the parolees, and Tia for all you do!!!! I will be at Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, Iowa in March to meet Tia and we can’t wait!!!! God Bless you!!!!

  61. Christina Rodriguez on January 13th, 2012 3:02 pm

So glad you are here in NM!!! Would love to find out your location. We love pits and plenty of people want to volunteer their time to the lifers!! Welcome!!!

Your stories, dogs, and family have touched my heart in such a big way. Tia, Mariah, Twins, Jake, Mondo.. and everyone else.. keep up the great work… and keep on keepin’ on !!!!
Hope to see you out west soon !!!!

  65. James on January 15th, 2012 3:40 pm

I am glad to hear you are coming to New Mexico. The Pit lovers in the world must help the cause here in New Mexico as we have a state senator who has ignorantly been pushing for a ban of Pits for years now. She has drafted a dangerous and poorly written piece of legislation that will, if enacted, lead to the termination of the breed in the state. All Pit lovers need to stand up to the ignorance and defeat the senator and her dangerous bill. Please contact the governor of New Mexico and ask her not to put the bill before the special session and to not sign it should it ever make it to her desk.

  66. James on January 15th, 2012 3:42 pm

For thos interested in reading this poorly worded bill, there is a link to the bill on this website:

For those who are not necessarily Pit lovers but love dogs, you will be extremely interested in this bill. From a legal standpoint, this bill is a direct attack on Pit Bulls. However, it is also an indirect attack on ALL dogs. The provision of the bill that defines a “potentially dangerous dog” states that a dog that is “acting in a highly aggressive manner within a fenced yard or enclosure.” There will be a lot of dogs label “potentially dangerous” and dangerous as a result of this language. There are some many other problems with this proposed legislation that I could not possibly lay them all out here. I encourage you all to read it and encourage your state reps and senators to reject it in its entirity.

  69. dawn on January 17th, 2012 9:41 am

I just want to get a message out to a very well deserved group. I love Tia, her kids, her dogs, her workers and everything that goes along with VILLALOBOS. I am a pit bull owner of 2 and love them with all my heart. I actually contacted Villalobos in April of 2010 asking for help, even though I didn’t get a response it’s a good thing because it all worked out in the end! I am happy to see that there is a spot for them in NM as I am a former resident of NM and that state needs severe help with pit bulls. I am so glad I have mine with me as they both came from that state. My heart especially goes out to Mariah for the loss of Sloth, it hurts so bad and I know that feeling all to well. I am a huge supporter of you all and a dedicated watcher of your show. I was always a skeptic of the the pit bull breed myself until March of 2005 when we got our 1st pit bull puppy who is the same age as my 7 year old, and yes we still have her and yes she is so loved! Having her changed my way of thinking forever and that is why I adopted our 2nd pit mix from the humane society and we love him to and I don’t think I would ever own any other dog other than that of a PIT! It has always been my dream to help animals and over the years I have turned my ambition towards the pit breed because they need so much help and love. I wish I could do something to help the breed in my area. Anyway…Good luck to you and your new location and the NM location as well. I love you all and just wanted to let you know I am a true fan and support you!

  70. Janet Carroll on January 17th, 2012 2:05 pm

I am so glad that you have your new place and that it is New Mexico this is so awesome!!!!! I pray that you also get to continue your program with the parolees. I t is hard for them to start a new life after the outs society does not allow that. My son has been out now for over 2years now and has yet to be able to keep ajob or even bother to put in an application just as soon as they get back check they toss don’t even bother to think that there is there next great employee and you help them adn also understand I do pray taht you and yoru honey will finally be able to be together and finsih out yoru dreams for his word says that he will give you the desires of your heart and I pray this for you and yours God Bless Tian and family, your friend Janet

  73. Kat on January 18th, 2012 11:48 pm

Villa Lobos is coming to New Mexico? How fortunate we are!! We won a great victory when our Govenor refused to let the Pit Bull breed specific bill be heard. My baby is part pit bull. I rescued her from the city animal shelter over 10 yrs. ago. Under this bill she would have been in jeopardy. She was found wandering the streets as a puppy, and I am sure she had a traumatic time. I don’t try to take her to a dog park because she just shuts down. She loves walks. She grew up with a Chihuahua, who passed away last August. They were just fine together. In fact the Chihuahua ruled the roost. Since I got her, my Mom and Brother have passed away. If she wasn’t with me, I don’t know how I would have made it. I love your show, I hope you know how wonderful you all are. Tia, there are no words to thank you, your family, and your dedicated employees. Too bad we can’t pass out medals, because you guys are heroes. My baby thinks so too. I hope maybe I can adopt one of your pitties from New Mexico!! Keep us informed.

  74. Jode on January 19th, 2012 11:44 am

    Hey Mondo and family,
Just wanted to say congrats on the new place. Just wondering if yall hire anyone besides parolees. I live in Waco, TX but I would love to join the crew. Wish you could have moved to Texas but you gotta go where you can. God bless you and everything you do. My pits saved my life and I saved theirs so we greatly appreciate everything you do. Love ya and keep pushing.

Welcome to New Mexico. We have many pitbulls here that are being misused or mistreated. I hope that you do a great job. I have a friend who is in the military and has a pitbull female who is about 6-8 months old. He can not keep her anymore. Hes living in Cali. but will bring her here if anyone wants her. I love your show and all you that do being the owner of a pitbul and with a ex armed robber husband! I can really indentify with all the barriers in life you come across being either of these.
I so wish that we had a similar scheme sadly in the UK this would probably never be possible as Pitbuls are banned here unless you have them legalised ie: muzzeled at all times, neutured, tattoed the list is endless.
Any how I just wanted to write that your programme gives hope to pits across the world and shows what amazing dogs they are.

Welcome to New Mexico. Love your work, watch the reality show religiously. We live in Nambe where many people own pitts. Our Laila has been a part of the family for just over a year, and her brother Smo, belongs to my son. Best, most loving breed, yet difficult to train I’ve ever owned. Wouldn’t trade the experience for hte world.

Bien venidos ha Nuevo Mejico. Con amor y carino,

Tim, Jamie, Nicole and, of course our Laila!

SOS Help: Im in Colorado and due to the BSL in denver, I have networked these 12 dogs at least 8 times and NO OFFERS! These dogs are losing their home and need placement by the End of Jan 2010 If anyone can help, Please email me at thunderbucks at for photos. Thank You!

    Following are the dogs:

Pearl – 70lb pit/lab mix female – 3yr Loves humans and most dogs but can be dominant with other females. Beautiful girl. Pics don’t do her justice. Pearl plays well with other dogs and has lots of enthusiasm for walk, hikes or playtime. Pearl is great on a leash and eager to please her person. Awesome dog!

Lou – 75lb pit male – 4yr, blue fawn, good with humans and female dogs, selective with male dogs. Very smart and curious boy with lots of energy. Lou would love to have someone to walk or hike with. Currently in a board and train program so this guy is going to be an awesome addition to someone’s home! Needs to find place by Jan 22. New owner is entitled to free training sessions.

Petey (aka Meatball) – 80lb Lab/American Bulldog mix male – White, Charcoal Grey with light brown eyes. Stunning looking, 3yrs, good with people and other dogs. Has just started a month long board and train to work on obedience and crate training. Everyone loves this guy. Very unique.

Dingo- 75 lb Pit male – 3yr, loves humans, has shown aggression with both sex dogs but likes some dogs. Beautiful blue, compact and very muscular. Very social and very handsome.

Lola – 65 lb Pit or American Bulldog female -2yr, solid white with freckles, Selective about the dogs she will interact with and great with the ones she loves. Shows a want to chase cats but in a competent home she may overcome this.

Lacy – 55 lb Pit or Bulldog female – 2yr, solid white with freckles, good with humans and dogs but must be fed separate. Very
ocial dog; a real sweetheart. Possible partial deafness. She shows a desire to go after cats but she shows this same trait with other dogs and ends up only wanting to play. In a competent home she may do ok with cats.

Jenny – 50lbs Beagle/Staffie Bull Terrier female – 1.5 yr, fawn and white, funny and affectionate. Blind in one eye perhaps from an injury to the head, good with most dogs. She uses appropriate corrections with dogs she feels threatened by. She was in the yard with Meatball whom she has never met and did very well with his spastic puppy energy.

This is Spotted Domino he is a short hair Pointer or Catahoula mix, about 1.5 yrs old. He is selective about dog companions. His owner had to relinquish him due to some difficult financial times and he was rescued from a kill shelter. Domino loves a good walk and does very good on the leash. He would make a great hiking or running partner. Needs someone to set the rules and give him basic training.

Dharma is a sweet girl who is only a couple of years old. She has already has a hard life. She was abandoned in a home with her babies and another mama pit with her own litter of babies. She was rescued from the home but was in a city that did not allow pit bulls. She loves to run and play and snuggle with her people

Mulva(Amber) – 60lbs Boxer/English Bulldog female – 3yr white and black, loves humans but gets possessive of them in the presence of other dogs. Abuse and overbreeding make it hard for her to walk far although she loves to play ball if you’re willing to wait. She is a love and you can’t help feel bad for her and what she’s been subjected to.

Darby – 60lb Shepherd/Lab mix – 1.5 yrs old, fawn coloring, good with humans and loves Pearl but has shown aggression with other dogs. He is very very smart and any is protective of his people.

Momma – 55lbs pit female – 2yr good with humans and most dogs but dominant. Has had a tough life, moving from shelter to shelter and deserves a break.

  87. Theresa on January 25th, 2012 2:12 am

I love , respect and admire what you do. I watch your show every week and am a huge fan. I love all animals and just wish we had something here where I live in West Virginia for pits too. I love the breed, and they are definately a very misunderstood breed. People really need to be educated and not judge the “book” (dog) by all the horro stories, movies, news feeds and word of mouth about how they are vicious. They can be just as loving as a cat, it’s all in how they are raised, treated, and trained. All the shelters around here only keep animals for 2 wks before they are either transferred to another facility or just euthinized. I believe al animals deserve a second chance, just like people. How I wish there was some way to get rescue center set up here so I could do some good like you. But until then, I will continue to support and help you in any and every way I can. Keep up the great work that you do!!!!

WOW i just started to see the advertising on tv for the show and i sat down last night and watched all the episodes on comcast demand. i sat here with tears in my eyes both sad and happy through every show. i think that what you are doin for both pitts and people looking for a second chance is beyond awsome and amazing. i myself am living my second chance and i love dogs esp pitts. never having any pets growing up except a pitt that ran away or was stolen i am very fond of them and both them and us “convicts are misunderstood and not given another chance. your message and hope for us gives me even more encouragment and i pray that you continue in your mission and that many more dogs and people are rescued from the streets and prisons. is there any way to find out where you are at here in nm? i would love to be able to come by and give some of my time to you?

  95. Sherri on January 29th, 2012 2:01 pm

I am addicted to your show, I have always loved all animals. I have owned a pit before and they are great dogs! My daughter and I volunteer for our local Humane Society and recently had 2 pits come in and at first they were very unsocialized but after a few months with us there and all the volunteers working with them they became big love bugs. One which has been adopted to a loving home and his mom is in a foster home. It is so great that you show people that pits are just like any other dog, with love and care they can be GREAT! Keep up all that you do!

  99. Ryan Alexander on January 29th, 2012 5:18 pm

You are me and my girls favorite on the show , my girlfriend has been around pits all her life. I got my first one four years ago from a friend of mine, she was the runt I had no idea how loyal and smart these dogs are and I would never own another dog but a pit, we have two now and have made several friends that also support and own pitbulls, My girfriend has overcame alot of struggles in her life but is now a full time student and recently made the deans list watching shows like yours has helped in her continuing to improve herself as a person. She says if we ever get ahead she wants to foster pitbulls and has even talked to the humane society here in town about this and they said they have to euthanize them all the time and are in dire need of volunteers to foster Pits, its part of the job that the lady said she hates deeply, she is going into forensics as her major. Im also making steps toward taking obedience classes with my puppy and going back to school with the goal of being involved with animals. (which has always been my dream but with bills and kids I ended up laying commercial floors for 16 years and now Im a utility locator) so thanks for your good example you do make a difference.

I’m so proud and completely overwhelmed by everyone’s hard work, sacrifice and dedication. I have a 13 year old red nose staff, Naala, who I consider my first child. I have followed Queen Tia and the rescue for over a decade and to see Mondo take his success and pay it forward is really inspiring. I hope parolees can work there too. Luv ya.

We are active duty Air Force, stationed at Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM. The base in the last 9 months has passed a stipulation where as Pits are listed as the “Aggressive” breeds that are NOT allowed on Base Housing. Fortunately, for us, we arrived just 6 months prior to the new ruling. We have 2 pits that are our 4 legged children. Would love to know where you are located so that I might bring my granddaughters to see your facility when they visit in the summer.Just recently I was bashed on a single site because I showed my 2 babies on my profile. I am very upfront with the breed of dogs that I own because the stigma out there leans towards the negative when it comes to owning MisPits as I so fondly call them. Needless to say the site took action and the person had consequences for their actions towards me.

  106. Sue Hawkins on February 4th, 2012 11:44 pm

Where bouts in NM are you located? I’m in Texas and would love to come and possibly volunteer. I am an avid fan of your show cause I’m a true believer of rescuing pitties. I’m really partial to elder or special needs bulls. I currently have a 11yo and a 16yo. Thank you for all you do for this nobel breed and also for the parolle’s

Tia and family, I am sadden to hear of the troubles you are currently going through. I was planning to move to Florida, then I thought, Hummm, I love pit bulls and would love to work at your “center”. I lived in Mojave, CA during my teen years and loved it. I was all ready to move to CA. again. Now it looks like you are no longer there. New Mexico? Can you say where you are located yet? My favorite place in the world is Albuquerque, NM. If you are near there, it would be just as easy to relocate there. The best of everything to you and the wonderful work you do. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

I was hoping you were still here in cal but u got lucky to get away from all the bureaucratic nonsense that goes with doing business in ca. I found a female pit standing in the middle of a major street in Bakersfield, ca where I live. She just had pupps & has been starved & abused. A man helped me load her in my car & unfortunately the dog sanctuary here is full,, & the local SPCA will put her to sleep shortly cause they are overcrowded. I would keep her myself but Im over legal limit where I live, I am caregiver of my mom 100 miles away & cant keep her much longer. Please, please tell me where I can bring her as she is so sweet & gentle & loving she deserves a good home. She is now staying in my garage & she deserves better. Thank-you for any help you can give me, I will even drive her to NM if necessary.
