Though we've rescued so many dogs from NOLA, today's was the first since we've made the "Big Easy" our home.   This was our 911 of the day….

We had an elderly couple, still down on their luck after Katrina, who had befriended two female Pit Bull mixes.  They were either pregnant or "got pregnant" from the many stray dogs that run the neighborhoods.  They came by our new but not yet opened facility here in the Upper 9th Ward and pleaded for help.  So it was over the bridge and down into the Lower 9th Ward we went, but we never expected to run into what we did….20 puppies and two Momma dogs that are practically puppies themselves.  Now that they are back at our facility, we have three runts that are getting pushed out of the litters and so they need to be bottle fed every few hours.

These pictures tell their story.

Ooh my gosh! What a sad story :( I am very relieved to see that someone still cares enough to rescue two mommy pits and their puppies! :) Please continue to put a good word out there for all Pit Bulls! We need more people like the Villalobos team!
Will any of the puppies be put up for adoption when they get of age?

  11. Sandy Cole on February 5th, 2012 1:43 am

I love what you are doing for a wonderful breed that can not speak for themselves. Discrimination should be so 50 Years ago,but Unfortunately is still alive and well. I am so tired of Pitties & dogs in general getting blamed for what should fall on the Pet Parent.

  12. Leanna Boone on February 5th, 2012 1:58 am

It was great of that couple to befriend those mama dogs when the people themselves need help so bad. Heart lifting to hear of goodness over bad these days. Also great rescue Villelobos!

  13. Kimberly Kruse on February 5th, 2012 8:13 am

Tia i LOVE you and your family! You are human angels :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE what you do and your dedication to it!!! I live in Mi. and have been rescueing for about 11 years now…on a much lower scale than you 😉 i am buying a home again after 8 years of renting :))) after I buy and move am looking to adopt a pitty babie and will train “her” to be a therapy dog, I am soooooo excited to have a dog again! I have 4 cats that I have rescued and kept as my own over the last few years so i must adopt a puppie because one of my cats “attacks” any dog that comes in “his” home :/ I haven’t had a dog since I had to put my Rottie down in 2001 :((( Hopefully you will have a female pup ready to adopt by July!!! We need more people like you in this world! :) May God bless you all!!!! Thank you for what you do!!!!!

Blackie and Brownie and their pups are precious regardless of their circumstances. Thank you, Villobos for making the Upper 9th Ward your new home.

  16. Erika Roby on February 5th, 2012 10:12 am

Thank you for everything that you do. You have changed a lot of the way people are thinking and it is a great thing. I had my dog Mamas for 12 yrs she was an american pit bull terrier black and white and was the best, loyal, most caring, smartest dog I have ever had. I will be getting another dog and when I do it is going to be a rescue. Thank you.

  17. Courtney on February 5th, 2012 10:31 am

We love the show and think you do amazing work. We wish you had relocated your rescue to Pennsyvania so that we could volunteer and adopt one of your precious dogs. We will definately be buying some shirts to promote the fantastic work you do.

  22. Charlotte Thomas on February 6th, 2012 12:15 am

When I saw the out takes from next weeks show. I got outraged. Ceasars rescue is in Cali. so how does he get all the right paper work and no one harasses him? You have been there for a lot of years and all of a sudden they bother you. Its just not right. Isn’t there anything you can do to have it back or go to the new place in Cali.?
Why don’t you contact Ceasar and maybe he can help you out.
Im so sad that you have to go through all of this stuff now . You’ve been through enough can’t they just leave you alone.
    Sincerely and outraged,
    Charlotte Thomas

  23. S Gilbert on February 6th, 2012 1:36 am

HUGS to all of you for the work that you do. As an amimal rescuer for more than 20 years I know the battles you face every single day. After losing our two Am Staff’s at the age of 13 and 14 to cancer, we look forward to the day that we add a new bully to our family. We have two small rescues (Boston Terrier & JRT) at this time and hope to add a pit or cross someday soon. This breed is SO misunderstood and I pray that one day the public will realize this. It makes me wonder why there is no spay/neuter program for stupid and negligent owners! Bless all of you and the dogs! xoxo

  24. Pat Dravk on February 6th, 2012 11:39 am

Hi Tia and the rest of the awesome people at Villalobos! Please join us at WoofStock, Central Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor doggie love in. Please check our website at which is being updated at this time but has info from 2011. WE LOVE PITS! WE LOVE YOU GUYS! Please let me know how we could get you here. The event is September 30 in Harrisburg, Pa. Thanks and I’ll keep my paws crossed!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your show! I have 3 pits of my own, one full pit and 2 pit mixes and ever since i got them i will never own anything different than a pit! I appreciate what you guys do for those poor dogs!! I wish i could help, but i cant right now :( Hope the puppies find a loving caring forever home! And good luck Tania on working on training the dogs at Villalobos! You all do a great job! I envy you Tia! I don’t miss an episode of your show!

We are looking to buy a new pit puppy. We saw these puppies and are wondering if we can get one. If so please write us and tell us how. We need to get a puppy when its very young between 4 to 8 weeks possibly so that we can get it use to our son due to his autism, and our other pit. Thank you.

  28. Rebecca Blubaugh on February 6th, 2012 12:21 pm

10 pups each – that’s alotta puppies, and all so darned cute! All will be beautiful dogs and I wish I could have a big dog here, but my LL will kill me when he finds out I have a little terrier AND 4 cats! I love the Black and white pups – they’ll go fast! And what’s not to love about the little Chocolate runts?! They’ll be the best ones!

Will see if I can budget in a bag of Pedigree Puppy food for them next month, maybe even later this month!

    Keep on truckin!

Hello Tia and the crew! You all are so amazing god has given you all the strength to take care and love his creatures that are so misunderstood we had a pit and he was my sons guardian angel whe. He was born he followed him everywhere he saved him drowning in our pool he died two years ago at the age of 20 but due to laws we are not allowed to own a pit where I live. One day god will let it happen again for me and my kids. God bless you Tia. What are you going to do about mando him being in new Mexico and did Mariah, Tanya, Jake, Rico and the twins follow you to LA?

  38. Mayberry Deb on February 7th, 2012 1:00 pm

Tia, you and the Villalobos family are very much missed in Aqua Dulce. I hope all goes well for you and the show continues. I am a huge fan and the owner of a 3 year old ‘crazy’ Pit named Lola. May God bless you and the entire staff.

You and your family are wonderful! I’m so sad the you have been forced out, I wish you could have come to Oregon. I sent you an email before I knew you had been forced to move. I’m still going to need a service dog in the not so distant future. maybe you can help me find someone up here who can and will help me get a pit trained as a service dog. I was really looking forward to meeting all of you, so your move is a major disappointment to me. I would really like to have you hand pick a dog for me from your doggie guests, LOL. Well, maybe it can still be done, it is my dream.
    Renatta :-)

I want one of the runts– a female please?

  43. Tammie Thornton on February 9th, 2012 12:40 am

I was so excited to see that you have a litter of puppies!!! I have been a Pit owner for 30yrs. We recently had to put our ” DUDE” to sleep in May of 2010. Broke me and my husbands hearts.I bottle fed him and 2 other siblings. The Mama dog “LADY” developed cyist and was unable to nurse them on top of that Mama originally gave birth to 6 puppies but only the 3 survived. I bottle fed all 3 myself. I loved the bond that it gave me to my DUDE. In fact we had just put him down a month or so before i seen WALTER on your show and i balled my eyes out. So did my 2 daughters & my grandkids too…WALTER was a spitting image of my DUDE. Anyway i would so much love to have one of your puppies , but i live in Wyoming and cant afford to make a trip there. If there were some way you could think of how we could make this happen it would bee so awesome!! But if you can’t i would understand. I will wait to hear from you, hopefully soon. My heart beat is a hundred per right now. Keep up the awesome work you and the parolees do, I look forward to watching every show and just so you know i usually eend up crying every time. Again hope to hear from you soon………

  45. bonita on February 10th, 2012 2:10 pm

Thank you all so much for all that you do! We have been rescuing misunderstood dogs 1 at a time, for about 33 yrs…..Dobe’s Rott’s and a yr. ago we were blessed with out 1st “Petbull”……we abosulutely adore him!
These guys cant be judged based upon the breed, but only by the ignorance of those who mistrain them! I have verbalized to peeps who have fear against pitt’s that ‘it’s like racisim”! So my husband and I were lovin it when we saw on your show the “Racsism Is The Pitt’s” T’s & Sweats. I have ordered a sweatshirt for my husband, who’s birthday is this weekend.
I would love to come and volunteer at your ranch some time when financial provision is avaiable. Keep up the awesome work!

Hi. There are sooo many things I can say about how much i admire you tia and crew, but Tia, you are my hero and mentor. You keep on going. You see the hope in all situations. You are strong. A brave wonderful woman. I truly feel like i can do most anything after watching your show. And your girls are just the same. You are a very positive role model for them, the inmates and all of us. Thank You!!!!!

Today I did a little rescue myself….I look outside (and I live on a main street) there is a brown and white cropped ear pitbull in the road I call her and she comes running…I get puppy kisses and a happy dog…I run inside grab a jacket and a belt to use as a leash… And one of the guys on the road stops to ask if it is my dog and he has already called the cops to come get her….while waiting for the cops I get nothing but love from this dog …. Cops show up and say yes they know where she lives and is going to bring her home ….they actually tell me thank you for rescuing her from the road….. such a sweet misunderstood breed… Thanks for all you do tia …

Sorry they ran you out with rules and regulations. I love watching your show and am incouraged by the work you do with the dogs and parolees. both get a bad rap. need a second chance.

I do a small dog rescue out of my home, the other end of the spectrum, Small dogs. Keep up the good work.Gods Blessings!!!

  55. Dawn on February 12th, 2012 1:05 am

Tia, your family and the guys who you help out,

What they did to you in CA is terrible and it is their loss. I wish you, as well as Mondo, the best of luck with the two new locations. I wish you were closer so I could help you out. If I’m ever in NOLA, I will definitely see if you need/want volunteer help. If anyone deserves it, it’s you and your crew!

I’m sure it’s more difficult that any of us can imagine, but if anyone has proven they are able to make something good come of the BS, it is you Tia!

God bless you, your family and all of those you always help out!!

  56. Heather on February 12th, 2012 1:35 am

Thank you so much for everything your rescue does for the pitbull breed and speaking for those that can only talk with a bark. If it wasn’t for people like you, Tia, your family and the rest of your crew t the world would be missing alot more of this wonderful breed. Pitbulls are truely GOD’s angels with paws.

I was in shock that animal control in California did that, & i was poised to go into a letter writing frenzy. Then the show ended with Villalobos off to New Orleans, and I was flabbergasted by it all. You have the admiration of so many, and we all worry about you in your travails. So many questions! What happened to the parolees? What is the status of your husband? Are you sure about New Orleans? I lived on Galveston Island, and those hurricanes were a too frequent interuption for the normal person with one dog to find a port in a storm. I hate to be negative, but I was raised by an engineer to worry — I really want the best for you all. Sending best wishes your way through the cosmos!!

  62. Lisa Sturgeon on February 12th, 2012 5:15 am

I don’t know where to even begin…’s so awesome to be able to see how much you’re rescue stands for “NEW BEGINNINGS”!!! WOW, YOU ALL STAND UNITED IN SHOWING THIS COLD WORLD, what it means … TO LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY! We all need to reach out to one another….rebuild this great free country of ours….and YES this means taking responsibility of giving these beautiful animals and parolees… a second chance at life. YOU ALL SHOW TRUE LOVE AND YOU ARE ALL DESERVING OF A GREAT LIFE!!! Here is my story about unconditional love and the very need of second chances. I rescued a feral kitten thirteen years ago….although we have just loved her to pieces, she still hisses, uses her claws and bites us. “People”, its all about understanding each animal and how it began its life. If you’re asking “how could anyone put up with this behavior? ” Then this message is for you. Our precious cat was abandoned in a cold, dark warehouse. Her mother ran away and left behind a precious bundle of beautiful kittens. They were barely three weeks old. Needless to say I have a heart for cats!!! I already had three grown cats at home, but one day I was delivering some papers to a warehouse and before I could leave, this man told me about these kittens…. and that two of them had died during the night…. He asked if I would like one of these kittens……I immediately told him that I would try to save one…..sooooo he reached in this little box, which had some old rags inside and he handed me this frozen ……barely moving little teenie tiny kitten . I was in one big panic….I knew the first thing I had to do was warm this little baby kitten up. So I tucked her inside my coat…got in my car and went directly to the Country Feed Store and bought tiny bottles and baby kitten formula…..I rushed home. I fed this little baby girl around the clock…..she went with me everywhere I had to go…..there she snuggled up in a shoe box….with the softest, warmest baby blanket I could buy! I had become her mom….and to this very day…..she is my” LITTLE GIRL” …. I named her “Sophia!!!” I LOVE HER WITH ALL MY HEART AND SHE HAS GIVEN BACK SOOOO MUCH LOVE IT’S SO INCREDIBLE!!! I’m so thankful for having the opportunity to LOVE AN ANIMAL THAT NEEDED TENDER LOVE AND MOST OF ALL …..UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING!!!! She truly has touched my heart and taught me how to LOVE…so even the littlest tiny baby kitten that was on the brink of a very cruel, and cold death was spared! THANK YOU TO “THE BEST TEAM OF PEOPLE” THAT RESCUES ONE OF THE MOST UNDERSTOOD BREEDS OF DOGS…They are too be loved unconditionally…..and then these beautiful animals will bring much LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING TO THEIR DEDICATED OWNERS…..ITS ALL ABOUT HOW YOU TREAT YOUR ANIMALS…..THATS WHAT BUILDS TRUE WARM LOVING CHARACTER!!! My Sophia lets me pet her, kiss her, hold her and love her….but she still has that touch of feral or wild side to her….sooo she lets me know how much to hold her and pet her and love her…..OH SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND PRECIOUS and SHE EVEN KISSES ME BACK!!! ANIMALS ARE SUCH A GIFT…TO WHICH I AM SO VERY THANKFUL FOR……HANG IN THERE…KEEP LOOKING UP……BECAUSE WE ARE ALL LOVED UNCONDITIONALLY BY A MIGHTY GOD!!! HE IS LOOKING DOWN UPON HIS PEOPLE AND IT PLEASES HIM TO SEE THE LOVE THAT STILL SHINES THROUGH!!!

I am not used to looking things up on line, so I had no idea what would be on this week’s episode aside from what was shown on last week’s preview. So this week’s episode showed the problem, and I thought “we know what they’re being cited for, and we’ve seen her reaction, so this is the “hook” that gets us to tune in next week.” Then the show came back after the commercial break, and BANG! “We moved to New Orleans.” WHAT?! the last time you moved it took three or four episodes. This was quite a suprise! Later in the evening I clicked on a facebook link to “Must Love Cats” to find out more about filming they did at a rescue in Japan that I had worked with. That took me to Animal Planet where I realised I could access your website. So I read that you are in the upper nineth ward. I had made two trips to New Orleans after Katrina, and and two more since for reunions, and I couldn’t figure out where you could find enough room. As I remember the upper nineth, it’s pretty solidly developed. Also, one of the first thoughts I had was “What about the parolees?” I’m sure the parole board won’t let them re-locate out of state. What do they do now for jobs, and how are you going to build a whole new facility without your workforce? And how is your husband dealing with you moving so far away? I hope this is addressed in the next episode. I feel sorry for the dogs in CA who are losing one of their biggrst allies, but I agree that the nogs of NOLA realy need the help

    Tia, family, and Crew,

Last night I watched the wrap up, and season finale. It made me laugh, cry, smile, and feel hope all at the same time. I can not express enough how wonderful it is to see a show of rescuing animals on TV. Of all these crazy reality shows of Rich B****** housewives being such a waste of time, at least your show is the STAR of reality Tv should be. Kudos to you Tia being a strong woman. To your four beautiful children learning to more than themselves in this world, and helping parolees. Animals heel people physically, mentally, spiritually, and your show shows this. The new prison programs are FU**ing GREAT !! Finally, we are being humane to humans who make mistakes. I am excited to see the new season in New Orleans. big hug to Jake…I love his personality, and he should stop playing with his lip ring…lol Smile more Jake…I love your face, and laugh. GREAT JOB TO ALL OF YOU…..

    To Tia and crew
I am so glad you have moved to New Orleans, a dream of mine is to come to Villalobos to volunteer and fall in love all over again, with a dog of course. I live in Florida and when you were in California my dream was was far from coming true, but now I,m only a skip and a jump to Villalobos. Keep up the great work.

  71. John on February 12th, 2012 1:04 pm

Happy to hear your move went well. I live in Houston, Tx., and just wanted to offer any assistance you may need in rescues here. I’ve fostered several Pitbulls in the past until forever homes were found, and if you ever need any help in this area let me know. Love the dogs and what your doing.

  72. Alaine Peters on February 12th, 2012 1:30 pm

Hey Tia! Welcome to the South! We do not really have anyone like you that we can turn to. We are so far behind the times here when it comes to any kind of real animal aviate. I live in Alabama and been trying to rescue one dog at a time since I was 10 years old, and at my age I just feel over welmed most of the time. You give me Hope & Inspiration! Good Luck in the Big Easy, Cheering you on with Love & Prayers

  73. Sal Pacilio on February 12th, 2012 1:32 pm

Been a big fan of you and your cause since I first saw your show. It’s a real shame that due to the stupidity of closed minded people you have been harrassed and forced to relocate, I think it is a big loss to California but major prize for NOLA and Pit Bull Rescues. I have always felt that Pit Bulls have gotten a bad rep due to the pet owners and I am glad your show has shown them in the way they deserve. There are way to many ignorant people out there who blame animals instead of their human owners. Here’s hoping that in your new location, you will be welcomed with open arms and loving hearts………… I wish we were closer so I could visit the new facility and even help out but we live in S. Jersey and though you are closer it’s still a good distance. Hopefully one day I will be in the area or around somewhere you are and I can THANK YOU in person. I know you will keep up the good fight and heres hoping that one day people will learn from the dogs. Good luck to you, the family and the rest of the crew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    God Bless and Good Luck
    The Pacilio’s of S. Jersey

    Tia and Crew,

I am always sorry to see the season end, but particularly this season because it made me so angry the way California treated you and your facility! But remember, when God closes a door, he opens a window and he knew you were needed in NO. God bless you for all the work you are doing to help these wonderful animals and I look forward to the new season.

    Hi Tia,
So happy you were able to rescue those tiny puppies and their mommies, I pray you are keeping strong and although we are surely going to miss you here in California, we all pray everything goes smooth in your new home. God Bless, you and yours!

  82. Phil on February 12th, 2012 4:25 pm

I own a yellow lab and walk him in the park everyday. I see many people walking their pitbulls and I have never had a problem. There is one beautiful rusty and white colored male pit named Hercules that this young guy just got from the town shelter and every time we see them Hercules rolls on the ground like a submissive little baby. He’s a beautiful dog with the biggest head and would never hurt a soul. My dog even tries to hump him and he does nothing. I stop him of course because I don’t want him doing that to Hercules. I love your show and am glued to the tv when it is on. California sucks for doing what they did to you. I live in Long Island NY and they are horrible to dog owners here too and not just Pit Bulls although most town shelters are full of them. They are wonderful dogs and I thank you for doing what you do for them. I think my next dog will be a rescued Pit bull from a town shelter. Keep up the good work and good luck in your new home. I hope Animal Planet keeps your show on for many years to come.

  83. DIANE BACHMAN on February 12th, 2012 4:31 pm

Was heartbroken to know that L.A. had treated you badly and you left the area. What a loss for them! Wondering if the parolees were able to go with you to New Orleans. I hope so! good luck there but you will be missed in So.Cal!

  84. Lisa Emery on February 12th, 2012 4:44 pm

They are all so beautiful. I am so sorry so many people do not appreciate the work and sacrifice you and your family make to try to make this world a better place. Even if sometimes it doesn’t feel like it rememter you are impacting the world in a good way. Thanks!

  85. Theresa on February 12th, 2012 5:04 pm

Just wanted to say you are such an amazing family and group of workers. My husband and I are stationed near Sacramento in the Air Force and we rescued 3 pitbulls from shelters and one puppy we found in a trash can after watching your show. Pits truly are the most misunderstood breed. They all love my 1 year old, and he loves all of them so much. Thank you for all the work you do and giving these beautiful dogs a second chance. One day I hope to open a dog rescue, out where we live there are many strays and dog fighting is huge out here. You give me the inspiration Tia, to help these amazing dogs. God bless you all!! I am so glad you finally got away from Cali. You are now alot closer to us in Tennessee and we plan on coming to visit one day. We have a pit and I would never own another breed of dog. They are AWESOME and so prejiduced against it pisses me off, So glad they have you and your family as a champion. If you are ever in Chattanooga, look me up we will help however we can.

    Hey Tia & Family

I am so sorry that you got chased out of California, what you do for Pitty’s is a blessing…Thanks you from my Pitt (Cinnamon) and me, I will keep you and all the really great people who work with you in my prayers….

  89. Judy on February 12th, 2012 6:57 pm

Have watched your show from the beginning. Watched the season finale with utter dismay. How can Animal Control do this to you? Usually, when regulations are changed, properties constructed according to old rules are “grandfathered.” I think there must be more to the story: how come you decided not to have a lawyer make inquiries on your behalf? What I think is that someone in L.A. County wanted you gone. That is both sad and disgusting. There are so many pit bulls in CA. What happens with your helpers who are anchored in CA? Louise, for example. And what of the parolees who cannot follow you to NOLA? Parolees generally have to stay in the state where they were incarcerated. AJ will now be far from you since he’s still in jail…… Mando could go with you, and Jake. The others are stuck in CA with no jobs now. Did Animal Control think of that??? You are one tough cookie, and you will survive, but I worry about the parolees and the pits who won’t be rescued by you now…..

  90. Tristan on February 12th, 2012 7:14 pm

I’m so thankful yall have came to Louisiana!! There are so many pitbulls who need to be rescued and stood up for down here! Keep up the good work!! :)

  91. Carrie Ferris on February 12th, 2012 7:41 pm

I was very upset to see you and your crew basically get pushed out of California. You guys do amazing work with the dogs and the parolees. Praying better luck comes to you in your new facility. You, your daughters, and staff are amazing!!!! God bless you guys and the great work you are doing.

  92. Shanda on February 12th, 2012 8:33 pm

I’m not a religous person by any standards but if there truely is a God, Tia, you are definetly one of his angels. I have so much respect and gratitude towards you for the work you do. To excerise that much trust in caring for hundreds of dogs and these perolee’s the way you do…. Well, what is there to say? I wish you and your family ( imediate and extended) the best of luck in your new home. My husband, my 3 pugs and myself will be cheering you and your crew on. =)

  93. Gina Kuhfuss on February 12th, 2012 10:38 pm

    Tia &Crew:
I just watched the season finale, & I cried. To loose both your homes in just a matter of weeks breaks my heart. You do a wonderful job with your rescue center, and I have to tell you when I come across an organization that is giving away money to need animal group, I always enter your name for the chance of extra money coming your way. I watch the show faithfully & love it. I think your husband got the shaft from the get go, and I think you also just received it also from LA Co. Animal Control. Now that you are based in New Orleans, I have to ask, what will happen with your husband and you being so far away? Will you take time to go back & visit or what? (I know that is a very personal question, but I kind of care) Good luck in your new home & I know you are a very welcome addition to the City of New Orleans. Can’t wait for the new season of the show. Sincerely, Gina Kuhfuss

  95. Laura on February 12th, 2012 11:44 pm

Cant believe your luck Tia. Very sorry that you had to leave your home. I love your show, and all your “helpers”. You are doing God’s work. I attract strays and currently have two cats and one dog here in Miami where I am taking care of my mother with increasing dementia, and 3 dogs and 1 cat with my husband back at my real home outside Phoenix Az. We have one pure pit (red and white) and a pit/charpe(spelling?) mix, also collie/shepard mix. Our pit mix was dumped on the highway with her siblings were my husband found 3 already dead. She survived with her brother. I named her angel. One day my husband was asleep on the coach with her. She barked several times in his face finally waking him up. The electrical outlet behind our tv was surrounded by dust because a wall unit was placed across the corner, The outlet was arching, and about to start a fire. Angel saved my family for me. The wall unit has since been taken down and my mobile home is still there because we saved a dog that someone else literally threw away. Our pure pit, Emi, named by my husband , backwards for I ME, was living across the street from a house he was renting. She repeatedly escaped, she was only a couple of months old, a ran to my husbands front door and even into his car. She belonged to a drug dealing breeder who didn’t take care of them. When my husband moved, he took Emi with him. She has been our best behaved dog overall. My mom lives in Dade county where pits are illegal. I cant even friend one here much less adopt one. maybe you could help start a prison program in New Orleans! Anyway, love and God’s blessing to you all. I’ll pray for your husband as well as you, your family and the dogs. Keep up the Good Fight. Laura

  96. Sharon O'Hara on February 12th, 2012 11:54 pm

    Hello Tia and Family,

I cannot get over the Animal Control people you encountered in CA. Aren’t you on the same side? They knew about your rescue, so a notification letter s to guideline changes were in order, not a citation!!

I see you already started a rescue in New Orleans, good luck with it. After seeing last night’s prison program, I would have thought that is what you’d be doing down there and take the kennel care burdon off yourselves! Just a thought!!

Thanks for sharing your spirit, you have definately inspired many, and turning me into a pitbull lover!!

  97. Shaina Kalil on February 13th, 2012 9:07 am

Every time I watch this show or read your posts I get all chocked up! I am not usually such a softie but Pits have a special place in my heart. What you all are doing for these animals and the people who care for them is absolutely amazing. The fact that you are so humble is truly commendable but the truth is Tia that you, the girls, the twins, the parolees and all of the volunteers that make this mission happen are the definition of HERO! Keep up the great work :) Btw, these puppies are so freaking adorable and I hope they find their forever homes soon. Love you guys! Shaina from Boston

I believe that the work that you and your extended family are doing is a mission from god himself! Keeping strong through all the obstacles set in your path shows that you are one of most deserving rescues, and deserve praise instead of the judgement you tend to receive. Keep up the good work and just know that you are not alone. We all tend to judge based on appearences and mistakes, it takes a really amazing person to stay in the fight for those that can not fight for themselves and believing in those that others turn their backs on. To me you are admirerable! A great mother, a great teacher and a freind even to those that you have yet to know. We should all take notes and implement some of your stregths into our lives. Keep up the good work!

  117. SHARON ZIESENISS on February 14th, 2012 10:48 am

What will happen to the pit bulls in California now that you are not there to help them? Will they all be killed which I understand is Californias MO. Enjoy your show and all the work you do. How will house checks be done for people who want to adopt on the west coast?

God Bless you and your family and of course all your members of your team, we have two pits and they are loyal, loving and protective, yeah sure we have the odd tiff between them but they lick each others wounds afterwards… they are our children and give us loads of joy.Thank you for caring for so many misunderstood and misfortunate pitts all over the world, My respect and thanks from Botswana Africa

You guys are amazing! I was wondering will you still have the pit bull and parolees show since you are no longer in Ca. What to the guys that can’t leave the state. I am such a big fan of the show. I lived in the 9th ward back in the last 80’s and before Katrina I had a lot of friends that lived there but have lost contact. I would love to come visit once I find someone to watch my too girls. Golden girl is a pit/chow/Shepard/wolf mix and Princess Prada is all pit bull and she is laying on my feet as I am typing. Princess Prada is going to be 3 and Golden girl is 5 and they are a handfull for anybody but me and my mom but as soon as I can I will love to come out and volunteer while on vacation. Love you all sooo much…God Bless and I wish you guys had found a home in Philadelphia because the Pits really need your help.

I’m so thankful to you Tia and your family, and crew that help you do the rescues that you do. you Tia are like the true Pit bull, so strong, determined, big hearted, and loyal. I wish I lived close enough to volunteer. I watch your show faithfully, I have a pitbull/ boxer mix named Roxie. My son has two pitbulls, Jake & Maggie, they are like my Grandkids, I babysat them for a year for him, great dogs! My prayers are always with you guys. Love to you all! Pegi.

Bottle fed a litter of 13 border collies once when their mother, kelly, had her first seizure whelping. after the cersaerian(sic) the vet thought with her health issues it would be better to spay her right then while she was already under anestisia(sic). A pain in the neck but worth it since these were the most people orientated dogs that had ever existed. GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY THE PUPS!

  128. Melisa Cunningham on February 14th, 2012 9:38 pm

Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication to these pups and babies! I have been following your show and even have seen your daughters around town several times (canyon country). I was sad to hear you all moved but very happy you moved to a place that is in need of angels like you all! I will take one of those babies in a heart beat! Wish i was there to help feed and see them grow! Looking forward to their pictures as they get bigger = ) Lot’s of xoxo’s coming your way!

  129. Rebecca Devoe on February 15th, 2012 2:15 am

    Dear Tia,
I have to say that this just proves that everything happens for a reason. I have to admit I was very sad to see you go. Being that I live in Oregon where there are no pitbull rescues in the entire state. My bestfriend and I have a very similar outlook to the way we want our “home” to run. She has had bully’s for most of her life. I was lucky enough to have my life turned around because of a bully that needed my help. We have had the dream to take and pursue a volunteer expierence and learn as much as we can from you. I hope that someday in the very near futureYou are we will be able to open our “Home” and make an impact within our area the way you have for the breed. Where do you and your crew hide your wings? Pit bull guardian angels …All of you!

  130. Caren Blair on February 15th, 2012 3:35 am

i live in christchurch New Zealand, and have a rescue pitbull and a couple of other dogs. My daughters and i love what your doin in the states, unfortunately there is alot of prejudice against pitbulls here also so good on you for saving these great dogs.

  131. ErthAnjl on February 15th, 2012 7:11 am

Tia, I watch the show often. I can so relate to your passion with those dogs. I have and American Bully myself. The kid I never had.. hahaha. He’s the best friend who would truly die for me if necessary. Everywhere I take him in the car men especially are so taken by his size! He’s 100 lbs. of pure muscle but such a love. I know the feeling of the commitment to take care of just the one but you and your team go far and beyond. I pray for you guys all the time and I did send a small donation not long ago. I don’t usually donate to many causes, I don’t believe the money is used or distributed to the sake of the cause but in my heart I know this money is. The economy is kicking serious butt out here now and it’s harder and harder to get by but I watch all the adversity you face and you just keep going. Reminds me of myself a bit. Take care, I hope to send another donation soon! Best of luck to you and yours! ((hugs)) ErthAnjl O:) P.S. I’ll be watching!

  132. Felice + Baylee (the Pit Bull) on February 15th, 2012 8:02 am

You guys are the best! I’ve been following your show since it first came on! I wish you all the best in LA!

Tia, you’re an amazing woman! I wish I lived closer, I would definitely volunteer, just to be near your babies and the incredible woman that you are!

I emailed you a couple of years ago and you answered me back, I was so happy.

Now I have my Pit and I’m truly enchanted by this dog! He’s a handful, but I’m strong! He’s the most incredible loving, intelligent dog that I’ve ever had! Even my husband is hooked!

    Good luck!

    Goof afternoon Villa Lobo
I want to thank you for what you Tia and your Fam and Your Crew does for our Breed. I’ve been around pits all my life and had and have pits and it’s the BEST breed out there.
If i lived closer to you guys i would be helping out with anything and maybe adopting out a beautiful pit from your facilities.
Thank you again and God bless

  138. Dale Tiller on February 15th, 2012 2:38 pm

Congrats ! I know that must have been really hard on you all but keep up the good work. If I was there I’d help feed those little cuties fir you, but I’m not so I’m sending all my good energy to you all. With The Big Easy so over run with strays, especially Pitties, do you think you will be able to get them adopted? Kentucky is very much the same. Love to you all. D

  139. GINA on February 15th, 2012 3:05 pm

I LOVE your work and your show. I have been a fan since the beginning. I am an independent animal rescuer and am a Vet Tech for the past 9 years, but have been rescuing since I was 4. I have 5 pitbulls, one of whom is special needs (deaf). He is a wonderful happy boy but is challenging to train. I have many other rescue babies from chihuahuas to mastiffs and believe it or not, the pitties and chi’s live together in my “blended family” of cats and dogs quite amicably. Keep up your awesome work, we need more “Tia’s” in the world! xoxoxo

  140. Joy on February 15th, 2012 4:38 pm

Love the show. I started watching it to educate my husband that pits are great dogs. He would never let me adopt one becasue he thought it would attack our other dogs or us. Well now we own a pitty girl who is the love of of his life. I hope when we get ready for another pit we will be able to adopt from you. Keep up the great work that you do every day for the breed and the guys.

  141. Calie on February 15th, 2012 4:52 pm

I just “retired” this summer from 30 years of rescuing and shelter work, so it’s so wonderful knowing groups like yours are going to continue – it’s depressing to me not being able to help – I’d be down there scoopin’ poop and helping with these babies if I were younger. Bless all of your family – just love ya Tia. Looking forward to updates and the opening of the new rescue – congrats! I’d like to give LA Animal Control a piece of my mind…

I have been volunteering at a no-kill rescue in Tennessee for 14 years and I keep praying that the south will get more help and people that love and care for animals. Thank you for coming to the south to help the animals here people here have such a good ‘ol boy attitutude about animals and think they are are just propertiy to do with as they please, care or not care for. I hope you don’t get discouraged because of the attituide of southern people about animals. It would be a dream come true if some day I could visit your faciality. We do have some Pitts at Noah’s Arc, Inc. but we hesitate to adopt them out. there are a lot of bad people here that don’t care about the dogs. Just want to say “Welcome” to the south”! Thank God you are here!!!

You guys are amazing and I thank you for your efforts to save and show people that pits and parolees are not something that should be feared they are just misunderstood. I wish I lived in CA still I would adopt in a heart beat!

  151. Enid Breakstone on February 17th, 2012 11:13 am

Hello Tia and everyone – What a surprise to learn that you’ve moved to LA. (just watched the show that aired February 11). Big loss for L.A., but big win for the south (used to live in Dallas, TX, I know how bad it can be in the south). Oh well, it just means that if I get the travelling bug, you guys are closer. I live in CT and volunteered in November 2010, was part of the Big Pit Bull Drive, was so sad when that didn’t work out.

I have the pictures that were taken at Tehachipi of Dutch and me framed in my kitchen and living room. I thnk of her often. I hope that she’s gotten adopted; I saw her in an episode a few weeks ago.

Good luck in your new digs. I’ll be watching, as I always do.

  152. Jane on February 17th, 2012 1:57 pm

I have been watching “Pitbulls and Parolees” for the last couple of weeks. I live in England, and I believe that in this country Pitbulls are virtually outlawed, which seems horribly unfair, as they are clearly dogs with (on the whole) delightful temperaments.

I will try to put through a donation: I imagine it can be changed into dollars by your bank. I wish you the very best.

  153. Marie Myers on February 17th, 2012 6:26 pm

G’day Villalobos! I want to let you all know that I swore I wouldnt watch your show cuz I missed my baby, Meesha, had to giveher up cuz of LL telling us we couldnt have ANY animals (piss on them!!) Meesha was our baby, she had beenwithus for 6 years and when I had to take her to the shelter, I cried so hard and meeshalet me knowthat she would be ok by nuzzling me and kissing me, it was the worst day ever!!!!! I love the show and i think your children are as awesome as you! Thank you for being another angel for the pitters. I want to adopt the babies, I just am so upset that I cant get to you all that soon. Wishing you all the best and hope people with pitbulls know how lucky they are!

  154. Allissa on February 17th, 2012 7:25 pm

Glad you could help them! I worked with an animal shelter near you for years, and unfortunately, be prepared for more puppies. The south isnt fond of spay/neutering your animals, so strays are horrible. Add to it the pure lack of concern for animal welfare and you get the south. I can’t even tell you how many pitbulls i saw in four years, most of which were either chained to 50 lb tow chains and left for dead, or were confiscated from fighting rings. So glad Tia and her crew are down there doing what they do. Hopefully they can bring some awareness to the crisis that inhabits the souths pet population.

  157. James Helms on February 19th, 2012 10:10 am

I think what you and your crew do is great. I have been saving strays for a long time. I always give them there shots and find good homes for them with people that will love and care for them. And I also have 2 that i kept for myself, one is a black female with white markings her name is Rio she was the offspring of a Katrina refuge. The other is another female white with brown spots on her ears, her name is Sasha. They are both loving and very friendly with other dogs and even cats, and most of all children. I have watched your show relentlessly, and hope that everything goes your way with the move to New Orleans. Keep up the the good work .

  158. Francie on February 19th, 2012 2:20 pm

I would like to be able to change that fact here. keep up the good work and GOD BLESS you all

Keep up the good work. You are the Pitbull’s angels. Thank God they have you to help them. We have 2 female Pitbulls that we rescued from the streets. We love them. They are part of our family. One of the girls we named Valentine because we found her on Valentine’s Day 3 years ago. The other girl my son named Ebony. She is all white. I asked him why he named her that because she is all white not black. He said it is because of her beautiful black eyes.

So delighted to see that you are “setting up shop” in New Orleans! I feel certain they don’t have all the ridiculous laws that CA has, which is just one of the MANY reasons that people are moving away from CA, in droves, (and a goodly number of them are winding up here in TN). I wish you all the best and look forward to your new shows, as your’s is one of my top favorites on ANIMAL PLANET. The South is a wonderful place to live, (with the possible exception of the humidity in the Summer), but the people are terrific! Hope you enjoy your new home and will have greater success than you had in CA!! It is definately CA’s loss, but New Orleans’ gain!!

    (P.S. FYI…. I, too, am a Redhead).

  177. Debbie on February 27th, 2012 12:39 am

You are special people to follow God’s call to care for His precious animals. If you ever give a pitbull a chance to love you, it will steal your heart and become a part of your family life. I love watching your show and seeing the love that you all have!

  184. melissa on March 7th, 2012 1:40 am

My name is melissa, I have 56 acres near the arkansas border in hayneville la. I am truely interested in helping rescue dogs. My very first dog was a pit bull i rescued from the shelter, little did I know, she was a fighting dog. I wanted to help her so bad overcome it but at the time didn’t know how. I now have enough land and knowledge to have what i think would be an awesome resue with a pond. i would love to chat with ya’ll about possibly helping out!
    your greatest fan melissa

So a BIG THANK YA’LL going out to all of ya’ll. Notice the ” ya’ll ” in almost every sentence, Just getting ya’ll used to hearing it! lol Keep up the great work. I wish I wasn’t unemployed or a donation would of come with the comment.

I just wanted to tell you guys that you are amazing and that at the momment I feel your pain… I am also bottle feeding a pit puppy! She sadly is one of hundreds that I have become a serogate mommy for and I loved each and every one of them almost as much as I love my two little boys. I am still sad that I had to watch so many of them go to new homes! Anyway if you guys ever need help shoot me an email. I am so glad to know that you guys are in NOLA. You guys are in my prayers.

The puppies are adorable but if I had the room, I would take Blackie in a heart beat. I already have 7 dogs, all large dogs so it’s my limit until I make more money. Then I would even have 10. The thing with vet costs and providing for them, you know…. Blackie is a real cutie.

It breaks my heart to see how many dogs and puppies. They are great dogs and they love you with all their heart. I wish I lived closer to be able help you. I miss seeing you guys on tv. I am on temp.workers com. As soon as I get my income all worked out I want to help sponser a dog or 2. I am not able to get an other dog at this time I have 2 Both and I am going to be loosing both this year. My female has cancer, her sight is going, she also has trouble with her back legs. My male is 125 lbs. and his back legs give out on him and has to be picked up. My boyfriend has my male at his house since I would be able to pick him up. They are both treated like my kids. I even tell my 3 sons that I love the dogs more then them. They love the dogs too. I want you all to know that I send you all my love and prayers. Keep up all the hard work you do for the dogs. Love you all and I miss you. Love Sheri

I am in CA close to your Agua Dulce location and would love one of those puppies preferably a female. If you ever come out to CA I would be willing to meet you somewhere or you could come to the house to check it. I am a supporter for your cause I think what you all do is very admirable. Keep up the great work, God bless you and the Villalobos family. Pitbulls ROCK. THANKS TIA FOR ALL YOU DO.

They are really cute but 20 pups is a lot to handle. If you had 20 puppies to train, feed, love and walk them once or twice a day don’t you think you would want to pull your hair out. Tia and the crew would love to get them adopted. She already adopted out 3 but took in 3 more when she rescued the dogs under the house. I LOVE WHAT VILLALOBOS DOES.THANK YOU.

  205. Andre on December 7th, 2012 9:40 pm
