The Maxim Girls of Pit Bulls and Parolees

The Maxim Girls of Pit Bulls and Parolees

www.maxim.com/tv/the-doggone-girls-of-pit-bulls-and-parolees

While most traditional Moms would be proud of their daughters doing "traditional" things (buying their first bra, going to the prom, graduating from the Brownies to the Girl Scouts), I of course love the "untraditional."  MY DAUGHTERS MADE MAXIM!!!  And it's for doing something they can be proud of and not just based on their looks.  Now that's hot!!

Hi Tia. First and foremost, I love your show and your rescue program! You and your staff all have beautiful hearts and you really show how reaching out changes lives. What would we be as a society without people like you and your guys reminding us that we are not the “entitled” species on this planet that we have come to behave like. So, here’s my story. My son is 23 years old and has been in recovery for 7 months. Once upon a time, before the suicides of 2 friends, he was a boy full of promise….captain of the wrestling team, brilliant, and the biggest heart on the planet. His father walked away from him at 14 and never looked back. He dropped out of college, got 2 DUI’s…you know the deal. He wanted to be a dog trainer that brought dogs together with juvenille offenders. Although we are in Pa, I was wondering how he might get into your program? I strongly believe it would be a life changing experience for him.

  8. Tara Peterson on February 11th, 2012 5:21 pm

The girls should be very proud of themselves. The beauty behind them goes so much further than looks. Yes, they are beatiful, but their spirit is so much more.

  9. Dex on February 11th, 2012 5:36 pm

    Hi Tia!

I think this was a brilliant idea to have both Tania and Mariah strike a pose in Maxim magazine. I think their appearance in Maxim magazine will increase the awareness of the plight of pitbulls with the demographic that matters most: young men between the ages of 18 to 24!

I’m a big fan of P & P (you know, Pitbulls and Parolees), and I never miss an episode. Keep up the good work by thinking up these creative ideas to bring only positive attention to your work with pitbulls!

    Cheers,

    Dirk

    CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Delia on February 12th, 2012 12:55 am

I have followed your show since it started. I can honestly say that, both me and my daughter can’t watch a episode with out coming to tears.
You and your daughters are the most beautiful, loving, kind, warm, and most of all welcoming great souls, that have taken over the lives of so many. So, I believe that it doesn’t matter what path our children take, as long as there’s a strong foundation. Only greatness and hope and come out of it. They look sooo beautiful and fierce. Look out world .

  21. Daniel on February 12th, 2012 1:03 am

Beautiful and amazing girls.Thank you for all you do, every episode

Beautiful and amazing girls, thank you for all you do.

  22. Terri Cunningham on February 12th, 2012 2:59 am

What’s going to happen now? I saw the last episode tonight, and I am upset. I mean is the show going to be cancelled now? because Tia doesn’t have the money to put the electrical wires underground? I watch this show, faithfully, even I don’t own a dog. I have a cat right now. I am just upset that bad luck follows Villalobos & Tehacapi. What else is going to happen? It’s just not fair. Tia is an advocate for pitt bulls, and Animal Planet& and the Discovery Channel should help her!!! Because I know there are many people who watch this show like I do, And it can’t end like this!

  23. jessica scott on February 12th, 2012 5:07 am

Wow!! U two r beautiful from the outside in. Ur show with ur family has changed me. Everything.g you do makes me want to also help make a difference. Keep doing what ur doing.. like u need my advice lol. AMAZING!!

  24. Delaney Cooper on February 12th, 2012 8:24 am

i love what u and ur family do and represent! my sister and i live together and have 2 pitbulls. i have fallen in love with this missunderstood breed of dog.we are huge fans of the show and are brought to tears at times with some of the episodes. our pit Isabella was an abused and neglected dog when we rescuded her. she has turned out to be such a sweet and loving girl. my kitten Nona sleeps on top of her while she snuggles in bed with me at night. so cute!!Tia and family, keep doin what u do! love and respect, Delaney, Edmonds Washington

I live in Georgia I’m old (hate it) & I volunteer once a week at the Ga, Dept. of Agriculture’s Equine Rescue Impound in a very “BAD” section of Atlanta. I LOVE your AP show. Just wanted to say I was exstatic to see you had come to Gwinnett to help that beautiful gray pitbull. You see almost ALL the horses at our Impound arrived in almost the exact state of starvation as that dog. We volunteers (which are almost all older women) love them back to health. The GDA has little to no involvement. Any funds available go to illegal indigent farmers. We the volunteers pretty much pay for eveything the horses need. Anyway can’t wait to see your new place in Louisiana. Glad you got out of Caliif. OC

  28. teresa liggin on February 12th, 2012 11:50 am

  40. Nancy Zayas on February 13th, 2012 1:00 pm

    Hi Tia,
My name is Nancy, I reside in Long Island NY. I am a HUGE fan of your show. I watch your show every Saturday night @ 10pm.
The reason for my email is that I have a cousin who lives in New Jersey and she has a female pit bull. The dog (chyna) is 9 months and she is great w kids. My cousin has 2 boys and chyna fits right in w the boys. My cousin has to move and they will not allow her to bring chyna so she is trying to find her a good home and although I know that there are a lot of people who do take good care of dogs there are still a lot of people who do not take good care of dogs. I fear for chyna.
I am writing to you for some advise and I also want to know how far are you willing to travel to rescue a pit bull. I’d love for chyna to go home w you because I know that she will be well taken care of and she will be going into a great home.
Tia please help me find chyna a great home.
    Thank you,

    Nancy-

I just got my first APB puppy since Dec. 2011 thank to God for moving to the next chapter of my life. I’d been watch PB&P for a while. I must say I love how God give you girls an untraditional mother to have a lifestyle that we don’t normally see. I do not have my wife and kids yet, but I AM planning of guiding our kids to be part of untraditional lifestyle. Since ya’ll got to move to New Orleans, I happen to live in a parish above you, so I’m going to find my chance to come meet ya’ll. Good luck for living in Louisiana now and God bless you all.

  48. Linda on February 14th, 2012 12:23 am

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GIRLS.

  49. Jaz on February 14th, 2012 8:46 am

I have been a fan of your show for quite some time now. Hercules my dog also is a big fan. My boy is a Rottie…and he too understands the prejudice that the muscle breeds go through.
In my own state, I’ve noticed the growing numbers of Pitbulls and the “dangerous” breeds. Sadly, I’m sure that the numbers of Pits being put down is probably growing as well.
I would love to see a rescue center here for Pitbulls, Rotties, and all the other “muscle” breeds…
I don’t have the kind of room you have but I’d be the first to volunteer if one showed up here.
I used to volunteer with a group called Shelter from the Storm when my first Rottie, Cougar, was alive. I am not much of an organizer but I am going to be talking to some folks I know to see if there’s any interest in some kind of group effort to start a rescue.
Personally my motivation will be to be the safe haven for the misunderstood breeds.
I don’t know how successful I will be but when and if there is positive progress, I’d so much love to ask you and some of your dogs to come up and visit.
I am a damn good fundraiser, just not all that knowledgeable of the added aspects. I wouldn’t attempt this on my own, so I will reach out. If you have any advice I’d love to hear.

Much love and good luck to you and your family in your new home…

    Jaz

Awsome I love pittbulls and this is just great my blue boy got adopted from the shelter that I was unable to keep! I do plan to have my own pittbull some day though and I hope to adopt one from you guys I am willing to come that far and come back and have a via lobos pitt I don’t care if my dog is old or young or has disabilities cause I love all animals and that includes insects and reptiles and of course anphibians and spiders too. I am a total tomboy and love this rescue too.

  77. Ches on February 17th, 2012 2:06 am

One more thing is that I am disabled myself I have type 1 diabetes and dogs and other animals with disibilities and life long illnesses make me feel normal and not so diffrent. If the book I am writting right now ever turns into a movie after it is published I want to use some of your pittbulls for the movie and also some of the pittbulls that are on death row and some parolees too. But it will take a while before I am a published author.

  139. janet woodruff on February 18th, 2012 3:39 pm

i feel i have to contact you,i have been watching your program on tv in great Britain and i am so sad its at its end here!i do hope there will be more.the work you all do at the rescue centre is amazing and hope it continues,we owned a pit bull 6 years ago and as they tightened up here in the UK about them we sadly had to give him up,he was called “calum”and we rescued him from a few lads that couldnt cope with him,he was a “blue” and 18 months old when we got him,so he was very dominant and hated other dogs ,we loved him very much and was devastated when he had gone as he was like a baby when he was in the house and so affectioate. i really wish we lived closer to you as i would volunteer x good luck for the future and long may you go on with your work xxxxxx janet.

  140. Steve McDevitt on February 18th, 2012 4:50 pm

It’s amazing what your family has done in the face of bigotry and ignorance. Not just with the Pits but with your lives!

Whats truly amazing, even miracalus, is how you havraised such a loving, caring and beautiful family.

Tia, you, the kids, the parolees and employees are what makes me proud to have the chance to know you all, if even just an hour once a week. I wish i were wealthy and could make some of your hardships go away. Maybe someday. Thats my dream and I’ll keep it with me always.

  144. dirk on February 19th, 2012 7:45 pm

    Greetings Tia!

    Love,

    Dirk

hey mariah! i love your show! its my favorite show in the whole world!! i just hope you dont have to rescue sooooooo many pitbulls, and parolles. oh say hi to tia and the parolles for me ok.im trying to convince my mom to come to your rescue and adopt a pittbull, but she beleives that pits are dangerous horrible creatures. i just wish she could open her eyes and see that pits are just like any other dog and not dangerous unless you make them dangerous. your just like me, exept for the age differance, and the hair color, your hair is awsome!! and im 11, turning 12 though.i just really want to open a dog rescue and be just like you, your sister, and your mom someday.peace. love haileypetruzzelli of grafton massechusetts.

  156. Stella Ferraiuolo on February 22nd, 2012 12:24 am

Tia, I watch your show all the time and love & respect what you do. I’m an animal lover and despise all the abusers out there. We are now living in Pennsylvania so, it’s a long way away from you BUT, one day when we get our lives to the point where we can afford another animal – “I want to adopt a pit”. And yes, I have become educated watching your show as well as Pit Boss. The saddest thing of all is the dogs get the bad name & reputation BUT it’s the PEOPLE that ruin them. {with the exception of a few that are born that way} So, you have made an impact on me and countless others.

Oh…. Yes, something else very important… Your girls are truly beautiful & caring souls”. You have done a great job!

  172. Arneshia Murrell on February 28th, 2012 1:20 pm

My name is Arneshia Murrell i am 13yrs old and I go to HuntersCreekk Middle School in Jacksonville NC. I want to be a vet when i grow up and i love your show!!!!!! I watch it every time i can. I love that you guys do this and with out expecting anything in return for it. I want to cry evertime I see those abused animal commercials. I am an animal crazy person. I love watching Animal Planet, no matter whats on ill tune in just so I can learn some new stuff about about animals. I grew up with all pit bulls and they’re my favorite dogs known to man kind. Thats why this show really hits home with me. My favorite type of pit bull would have to be the Blue Pit. i have only owned one and we werent allowed to have a dog so when the neighbors saw that we had one they called the Landlord and we had to give it away. It broke my heart. im not alowed to have a dog where I live now even though we own the house, we still rent the land and AGAIN the landlord said no pets. I hate it and I cant wait to move out. not to get away from my parents but so that i can move into an apartment that allows me to have a dog. When I do move out I hope to get a dog from you and your family and employees. Aside from being a Vet I also want to start an Animal Cop orginazation in my community. I hope to apply for an schlorship at Belmont in Denver,Colorado. When I do become a vet I hope to hire a killer lawyer and work to shut down all animal mills and pounds. Did you know that in a pound they kill an anilmal after 73 hours?? Well thats all I can say for now, I have to go to my next class. So ill leave on this note. You and your family and employees inspire me to be a better person and to love and care for animals more than I already do

  173. megan on February 28th, 2012 9:31 pm

i hope when im old an my butt to sag i can be just like Tia and her girls working along side pitbulls=)

  174. Loni Harrison on February 29th, 2012 12:50 pm

hey my name is loni and i had pitbulls all my life and if i ever saw 1 abused i would break down in my neighbor hood we couldnt have pit bulls and i had pitbulls my whole life and im proud of you guys so successful and when we move i would tell my mom about you guys and than we will get a dog so we can help your wonderful fondation out and i will break in to tears if you guys get into trouble and if your guys would ever get the pitbulls taken away from you guys and i want pictures stories and what you guys are up to if that is possibl and im only in that 6th grade and i’m 12 and i want to help all that i can and i also live in jacksonville and i go to hunters creek middle and i hope you guys go world wide and you guys become more successful and more and more pitbulls come there and if i live in la i think that is where you guys have your rescue center than i would volunteer if i was allowed and im so excited plz dont let me down plz keep up the good word and the successfulness up hope to get pictures and what happing throughout the pound because i no ppl that could help out in the future XOXOXOXOXO love PITBULLS and YOU GUYS keep up the work….

  175. Zandi on March 1st, 2012 9:44 am

  194. Grayson on March 17th, 2012 3:44 pm

    Hi Tia!

I think this was a brilliant idea to have both Tania and Mariah strike a pose in Maxim magazine. I think their appearance in Maxim magazine will increase the awareness of the plight of pitbulls with the demographic that matters most: young men between the ages of 18 to 24!

I’m a huge fan of P & P (you know, Pitbulls and Parolees), and I never miss an episode. Keep up the good work by thinking up these creative ideas to bring only positive attention to your work with pitbulls!

    Cheers,

    Gray

I was one of the animal loving people who thought Pit bulls were killers. After watching your show I was ashamed of myself. I always made my dogs come in when the guy down the street let his pit out. After watching your show I rode my bike down to his house and I said is your Pit friendly? He said oh yeah she is a pet bull and I got off my bike and she gave me kisses and wagged her tail. Thank you! Your show is important. I am gay and I know what its like to be misunderstood adding to my shame. You have taught me an important lesson that I thought I already knew…Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. My next rescue will be a pit puppy I promise you.
