Hi my Name is

GEMMILL

I've Been Here Since: 2013-09-10
DOB: Sept. 10, 2012
Gender: Male
Size: 35 lbs and counting

My Behavior:

Gemmill&Countrymatt1 Gemmill&CountryMatt2 Gemmill1

This little street dog has one of the most miraculous rescue stories in the history of Villalobos Rescue Center. After falling down 40 feet into the run off from a pumping station here in New Orleans, landing in the alligator infested waters are actually what saved his life. Narrowly escaping them, he managed to crawl up onto a concrete slab where he remained for days until construction workers heard his cries. After putting together a very elaborate rescue plan, we managed to haul "Gemmill" up to safety. He is currently going through heart worm treatment and still adjusting to people (he can be just a little bit shy) but soon he will be available for adoption. But for now he and his buddies here at Villalobos will continue to spend quality time together and talk of happy times to come.

Gemmill’s story was so heartwarming. I cried like a baby!!! I loved seeing how Matt just jumped in and seemed so caring and loving toward Gemmill. I wish he could adopt him. They are so sweet together. I think Matt is a wonderful addtition to your stattf. Your program is one of my very favorite shows and I never miss an episode. Wish I lived closer so I could volunteer. Tia you are an inspiration and I’m so grateful for what you do for the dogs! Thank you!!!

His story was so touching! I cried when he walked right up to the guys. We have a pit, her name is Nana. She’s going to be 5 and has a lump on her leg. We are working on getting her tested for cancer. Our two year old son follows her everywhere and we have decided if she passes we will adopt hopefully from you! We love what you do and hope that pits will one day no longer be so misunderstood. Have a great day!

Watched the premiere with baited breath, and I think the thing that impressed me the most was your new project for working with prisoners not quite released!! Like Matt. He;s wonderful with Gemmill and will be with all the dogs I’m sure.

I think that saving this dog as well as all the dogs that are rescued is wonderful. That VRC is saving lives and keeping them alive until a forever home is found. To Tia and the gang I say thank you. Y’all are the best!!

I watched the show about this Gemmill and Matt. I was so impressed with Matt’s patience and knowing how to coax this dog out of shyness. I know Matt will do well in his life. He is well on his way now. Gemmill is so cute he’s sure to get a forever home.

Well done Tia, Twins, & Matt! I had to sponsor this lil dude after seeing his episode. Yes Matt may have a little to do with it too after seeing him work with him so lovingly! Thanks for being so strong and continuing your work.
